Dear member of MOSP,
My name is Maarten Bark and I am writing to you as the president of
YEN-member-organisation Frysk Ynternasjonaal Kontakt (FYK). I am
addressing you on behalf of the newly elected board of FYK to inform you
of some developments within our organisation and to ask you a question
at the same time. You might have missed us at the Youth Leader Seminar
(YLS) in La Punt-Chamues, Switzerland last October. We just had a
weekend-long meeting in September during which we evaluated the past
decade and made plans for the next. One of the results of that weekend
is the current board, which has since then been busy making a solid plan
out of all of the input from our members. Unfortunately, this left us
with little time to attend the YLS, that is why we could not ask you our
question in person.
An important part of our plans is returning to the core business of FYK:
organizing exchanges with other youth-organisations throughout Europe.
During the past few years we have not organized a lot of exchanges and
partly as a result of that, we have only had a few new members joining
our organization. Exchanges are our way of appealing to the young people
of our region and making them see their own culture in a different
light. That is why we are currently looking for partners to organise one
or more exchanges with, starting next summer. So our question to you is
as follows: Do you have a number of interested (potential) members with
whom we could organise an exchange or a series of exchanges? We would
prefer a multilateral exchange with a visit to all participating
organisations in three or four (depending on the number of participating
organisations) years in a row.
Hopefully you are as enthousiastic about the prospect of organising an
exchange as we are, and you will have no problem finding enough
participants among your members. Within the next month, we are hoping to
find up to six enthousiastic partner organisations among the twelve we
are adressing. If you know of another organisation you would like to
involve, please do not hesitate to let us know. In any case, we are
eagerly looking forward to your reply.
