What do you want to see in this group? What do you think the prime
goal or purpose of this group should be? Leave your feedback so that
we can make this as good as it can be.

I would like to see the beginnings of what could ultimately become a
wiki on the WOT website. To begin with, information focused on the new
user would be good. Things like how to rate sites, tips & tricks, etc.
Then maybe move on to commonly asked support questions and development
ideas. Many of the same things are discussed in the forum, and there
is inevitable overlap, but like you suggested this may be a good place
to post other things as well.

I like your idea, Deborah. I think this Group could also focus on less
technical discussions. For example, many times people will post things
such as what do you think is the safest website and/or the most
dangerous website. In addition, many people ask questions such as what
is the difference between finjan and WOT, and even what is your
favorite website. All of these are not technical support questions, or
suggestions to WOT, but rather discussion questions. Also, possibly
projects such as researching somethign related to security, or in
Deborah's case, creating a Wiki. That's what I think this group could
be for. That way, the WOT staff doesn't have to keep up with support
questions from their forum, their blog comments, the firefox website
AND this.

I do like the idea of a Wiki. Maybe one of us can create a page in
this group for the beginnings of a WOT wiki sometime soon. Right now,
I have a discussion open so anyone can voice their ideas on what
should be included.

I look forward to seeing what it will become in the future.
Thanks for your idea!

It would be good if this was a newsgroup that people could come to
with the same questions that they post on the WOT forum. For example,
there is a mozilla.support.thunderbird newsgroup and there is also a
mozillazine Thunderbird support FORUM. Some prefer newgroups and some
prefer forums. (BTW, I'm just using the Thunderbird stuff as an
example . . . there's also the same for Firefox, and Microsoft has
forums and newsgroups on the same topics also).

Some may see these as a duplication, and in some cases it is. But, as
an example, when I have questions about Thunderbird, I post them on
the newsgroup AND the forum. Sometimes I get the same answers,
sometimes I get better answers on one than on the other, and sometimes
I get quicker answers on one than the other.

It's an additional resource to me, and I've found them both useful.
And, I've found that different users hang out on both, which makes
them both approach questions from a different perspective. Newsgroup
participants seem to be more experienced in certain areas, and vice-
versa.

Yes! I do agree, that "a wiki on the WOT website" would be a very good
addition. Presently the forum touches many topics, and some
discussions grow very long. But we could use a place to concentrate
the details scattered all over lots of posts. A wiki would be very
welcome...
