Howdy,

I've been trying to track down the issue of the missing uploads.

I download all the forum files and set about doing some debugging.

I found that the file_upload_location for some reason had reset itself to /tmp

Any ideas why???

I've created a file called upchange.php which will allow us to reset the directory if it happens again but we won't be able to get back the uploads that were stored in /tmp

Hi Clark,

When the files were being stored in the db, we purposely changed myupb.com's upload location to /tmp.

I've now changed it to the upload_ dir, is that correct?
Otherwise I could change it back.

It still wouldn't explain why the downloads go missing though....does tmp get cleaned out automatically every so often???

The files went missing because there was a bug in the update script.
You see, I was testing the script on my localhost, and I didn't have
anything uploaded, so I assumed the script worked fine. This bug was
actually a show stopper, which why we didn't release v2.2.1
immediately (That, plus docs needed to be written, and school played a
part in delaying).

The files should still be still on myupb.com (Maybe in the myupb.com/
uploads directory?) I just haven't gotten around it fixing that little
mistake. ^.^

I can understand that being the case for the old uploads from before the
update, but any idea why the uploads made since the update are disappearing.

"why the uploads made since the update are disappearing",
I don't understand what you are saying. :(

Since the UPB forum was updated to v2.2.1 some of the uploads I've made for
bug fixes have disappeared.
They worked to start with but they don't seem to show up anymore, the data
is in the database but the file doesn't exist otherwise it would show up.

This happened in http://forum.myupb.com/viewtopic.php?id=5&t_id=29 where
even you noticed the files weren't there even though I had uploaded them.

I checked the filenames in the database and they were there but the files
weren't in the upload directory and I can't find them anywhere.

Hey Clark,

I think I finally know what you mean, do you mean to say that forum.myupb.com's file_uploadlocation was set to /tmp? If so, it HAS TO NOT be /tmp, else you will lose files.

I ran an update script after the missing uploads happened to edit the database.

If the problem happens in future for some reason, the file in the forum's directory and is called upchange.php
