I believe I've found the culprit of the timing bug.

When the last_visit cookie wasn't found it was setting the timezone cookie to the current timestamp rather than the lastvisit cookie so it was putting things way into the future or past.

I'll update the forum and if we all keep an eye on it, hopefully it should work. Fingers crossed
