What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use mytracks to record a track.
2.

What is the expected output?
I expect the mytracks to show me the route recorded from my source to my
destination.

What do you see instead?
The recording has stopped at some random point. Each time it happens at a
different location.

Was perfect before.

What version of MyTracks are you using? On what version of Android? On what
phone?
mytracks v2.0.5
Samsung galaxy S2
Android 4.1.2

I tried using My Tracks the last few days and am having the same problem.
I begin recording a track, then turn off the screen and start my run. When
I finish the run, I switch the screen back on, stop recording and notice
that it shows that my whole run time was 30+ min, however the track stopped
recording after a couple of minutes. I removed the app and re-installed,
so I say 100% but I'm confident that I kept this up to date which means I
had version 2.0.5.

The phone is a Motorola Droid X2 with Android 2.3.5

Sounds like the problem is the in the middle of a recording, My Tracks no
longer receives new GPS points.

Can you let me know which version of Google Play services you have running
on your device?
Settings->Apps->Google Play services

The latest is version 4.0.33. If you don't have the latest, please update.
My Tracks is using the location manager in the Google Play services to
obtain gps points.

I had the same issue today. Normally reliable, today using a Polar H7 with
another app. The app stopped accurately recording waypoints.

Android 4.2.2
Google Play services 4.1.32
MyTracks version 2.0.6

See screenshot for what the app. is doing. Keeps dropping.

This is not a duplicate of 1464. That bug makes no mention of recording
getting aborted.

I decided to try My Tracks again since I got a new phone a few months ago.
I've recorded two runs and it seems to be working fine so far.
Android 5.0
Google Play services 7.3.29
My Tracks 2.0.9

I'm running the latest version of MyTracks v2.0.10 on Samsung Galaxy Note 4
SM-910V with Lollipop 5.0.1 and am having the same problem. About 1 out of
every 4 tracks randomly stops without an apparent reason. This is
upsetting as I'm trying to keep track of my progress towards my fitness
goal.

This latest time it appears to be connected to my interacting with my phone
to respond to a SMS text (via Hangouts).

Mine is similar. It stops recording at some random interval, then resumes,
then starts again and repeats. I also am using it as a fitness tracker.
The only apps running in background are my music player and C25K.

reinstalling the software didn't work. Here are 2 files, the first is the
same route that worked, the second taken today that kept losing its place.

Same here. Recording only fragments of the route. It start to fail after
27. july. Phone: Nexus 5.
