Adding functionality, modifying code and building a set top box

Looking to have someone source the hardware. modify the code and add
new features for a mythtv system. Initially I just want a prototype
built and then more.
It would be great to find someone who has experience integrating other
open source systems with mythtv and a background building the
hardware.

We've seen a lot of people with these intentions over the years who are
not aware of the logistical and economic issues required to get
something like this off the ground (I think there are even a couple
lengthy replies in the archive for this group). You are likely to find
some difficulty finding people until you've demonstrated knowledge of
working with the MPEG-LA about licensing, etc.

It would also be helpful to get a better idea about what you are looking
for. What sort of budget for hardware? What kinds of new features?
What type of TV connection (cable? satellite? US? Europe?)?
