Hey, I hope I haven't missed a post, but I think it's your turn still Aaron, right?

Sorry this took while to get out...

Sometime later, the group reassembles - Lovecraft, Gomes, Dr. Allen George Angell, and the youth.  The youth seems paler, and his face a bit more drawn, but his eyes still burn brightly.

"I think we should take you home", Lovecraft suggests.
"No, not yet", the youth insists.  "But I do want to want to gather my thoughts before we proceed much further."
"I know a good place" suggests Angell, and the group sets out.

The group have traveled deep into the English countryside.  The gentle rolling hills open into a green valley with a cliff at one side.  Atop that cliff sits the ruin of a once proud family manor, with a scattered group of workmen moving around its base.
With a hearty shout to the group above and a wave of his hand, Capt. Norrys indicates they should stop.
"Well, here it is, the old family manse, don't ya know.  It's a bit of a mess right now, but some mad American wired to say he must buy it and things being what they are, I've decided to sell.  Can't say I'll be sorry to get rid of it"

They all gaze up at the building which fairly exudes an air of ancient decay and vileness. Orne smiles like a child at Christmas.

REANIMATED!!!

The ghoul and his fiendish posse decide to vacate the old church for
the time being. Greener pastures, apparently, are awaiting them.
Tesla, now fully invested in what's going on here, follows along
obediently...

TRAIN
Event - Travel by Land - Affects Your Investigator
On a following Turn, play a new Location in the same Region right-side-
up on top of your Story Deck. Or, remain on the Train for a Turn to
play any Ally card that could be played in this Region (only 1 Ally
per Train card played).

I also take a point of sanity because of the portaphobia. I think it's
now Carol's turn if I remember correctly. I'll endeavor to be better
on my turns from now on!

Aaron

P.S. Have some photos from HPL's grave I'll post in the later today or
tomorrow if anyone is interested--or even if no one is :)

The group stumble through the ruins of the once proud Exham Priory
with the enthusiastic Norrys leading the way. "Right over
here, chaps," he shouts with the glee of a child. "I found this space
in one of the walls and knew I had to show it to you all" Norrys
gives a childish jump and claps his hands before the stares of the
others quiet him down.

The Mystic feels the waves of power flowing from the object in the
wall. Revealed is an old book, which Chambers picks up carefully.
"Do you know what it is, do you?" asks Norrys. "Do I know it?"
whispers Chambers, "why, I was responsible for writing it!"

It is Orne's turn to clap with glee.

How long had they been walking?  The youth was no longer sure - he had drifted out of awareness as the group had marched along.   Lovecraft still carried the rifle, casually but ready, and kept a close eye on Gomes and Dr. Allen who whispered between themselves.  George Angell kept a tight grip on the book...

That book.  The less the Youth thought of it the better.  He tried the relaxation exercises they had taught him at Belvue - but he was too tired to stay focused.

Finally, when it seemed like they might be spending another night on the streets of Kingsport, Lovecraft gestured to a church on the next block.

"There.  We can rest there for the night."

Despite the austere appearance of the old church, the youth was too relieved to argue and drifted quietly inside with the others.

On the train the sun sets. Darkness settles on the region. The moon,
which should be shining brightly, is instead obscured. The LUNAR
ECLIPSE has a eerie affect on the people on the train. It does nothing
to improve Tesla's mood, but the ghouls don't seem to mind,

LUNAR ECLIPSE
Event - Night - Affects All Investigators
It is now Night. Bury any Day or Night Events in play. All Living Dead
Allies add 1 point to their value.

That buries my Dawn of the Solstice, and I think that's it. Back over
to Carol!

Orne studied the book carefully as the other stand around in the ominous ruins.  He frequently glanced up at the eager face of Norrys, who reflexively gave him a big smile, and even one time a "thumbs up" sign. Each time Orne acknowledged the smile or greeting of Norrys with a disturbing, yet approving smile of his own.   "My aren't those two getting along famously," thought the Mystic.  Somehow this development did not make her feel any better in this awful place.

Finally Orne turned a page, studied some notes in the margin that even Chambers seemed surprised to see and announced," Ah, now I see what our next step must be.  We must travel as soon as possible to one of the most sacred sites in the British Isles, we must direct our steps to Stonehenge."

Norrys can't contain himself and fairly shouts, "Oh, wonderful, that's ripping"  Orne again gives him an almost fond smile.

I begin walking the Stonehenge Country Site

The night passes restlessly.  The youth trying to find some comfortable place to sleep on the hard church pews.

Just as the youth is nearing sleep, a cold chill runs through his body.  He sits up stiffly, and sees Lovecraft staring out the church window into the night.  He joins him and they stand quietly together as a slow shadow engulfs the moon.

Gomes and Dr. Allen appear to be sleeping, but the youth has his doubts.

George Angell has pulled a chair up to the altar, and has blasphemously arranged the broken shards on the altar cloth, the candles providing just enough flickering light for his furious note taking.

Looking back to the darkening moon, the youth asks - "What does this mean?"
"It is an ill omen", remarks Lovecraft. "And I think our best option is to wait it out here in this place of sanctuary."

*PASS #1*

[Retro-con note:  I just realized the tome I have is "shards" not a book.  So I may go back and amend some of my previous posts.]

I'll Pass as well so we're on to Combat! I don't have anything in my
threat but I'm not certain if others do because I haven't kept the
Turn Log up to date sorry. :( So you guys should post if you have
cards in your threats. Before next turn I'll get that log up to snuff
so we can be clean going forward.

Robert--I'm not sure which book you're talking about? What do you have
to amend?

I have the Tome "Eltdown Shards" played.  In the descriptions of the actions, I have been referring to it as a book, but the illustration is clear that it's, well, shards, not pages.  It doesn't affect play at all.

I have nothing in my threat.  (yet... muhahahaha...)
