I just finished cataloging my long neglected Mythos collection. I'm
looking forward to checking out this group.

Hello and welcome! It looks like our current game has stalled a bit, but I
know Carol is still around (hi Carol!). I'm certainly willing to start
another game up if you want to. With the threading at the group it should
be pretty easy to keep them separate. Just let us know if/when you want to
play!

Sounds Great!

Poking around the group site I didn't see any house rules for PBEM.
Are we operating with standard rules and an honor system, or is there
some other mechanism involved?

Are the Scooby Doo cards considered legal? :)

In any event it shouldn't take me too much to get ready.

Hi Aaron

Yeah I'm still around and have computer reliable computer access again.  If you want to start a second game, I'll go for it.  It's seems we have a third interested party so why don't we agree on rules and I'll look at my decks and get back to you.

So for as I understand them we:
1. Play by the honor system.
2. Use the original point system on cards unless otherwise stated
3. Use only printed Mythos cards of any set or dimension and follow the Mythos rules as set out in the game.
4. Build decks that follow the game rules as set out in the Mythos rules
5. Allow that any disputes will be discussed and settled by established rules, and supporting FAQ.
6. Will not use "House rules" unless announced and mutually agreed on by all players.

Phew that's a mouth full, Please check me Aaron and then maybe we should post this in our pages.

I'll get back to you with another deck

Thanks

Carol:}

Yeah we pretty much work on the honor system. We (or at least I) figure if
you're cheating at a 15 year old CCG in an email game you really need to
re-examine your life. :)

Other than that it's pretty much standard Mythos. The repoint system by
Alex is optional. I tend to build all my decks using it, but I certainly
don't mind if the people I'm playing against don't use it. If you're not
familiar with it, it's a system he came up with that attempts to balance
the adventure cards a bit better. I think it's terrific and the pertinent
PDFs are available in the files section at this group. Again, your choice
as to whether you want to use it or not. I think Carol tends to use it and
I almost always do, but we don't care what our opponents are using.

And I have no problem with anyone using the Scooby Doo cards! In fact, I
should try to make a deck with them, too!

Again, welcome!

Aaron

We crossed in cyberspace!

> 1. Play by the honor system.

Agreed.

> 2. Use the original point system on cards unless otherwise stated

Agreed, on a per player basis (unless you care, Carol). Meaning, if I'm
using repoint I won't insist everyone else does, too. Sound good?

> 3. Use only printed Mythos cards of any set or dimension and follow the
Mythos rules as set out in the game.

Agreed, but I suppose on a per game basis we could include things like the
Scooby Doo set. What are your thoughts, Carol?

Agreed.

Agreed.

Agreed, which probably handles my notes above. And yeah putting these in a
page would probably be a good idea! I'll try to do that sometime soon
unless you beat me to it, Carol.

I have a bunch of decks ready so it's just a matter of picking one out. I'm
ready anytime for game #2!!! :)

Looking forward to it.

Of course, my wife would argue that if I want to PLAY a 15 year old CCG by email I should re-examine my life.  Or at least wash some dishes first.  :)

I'll check out the Adventure repoint list.  If that's what the group is using, I'll use it too.  Seems only fair.

I have one other friend I'd like to check in with and see if he is interested in playing.  We used to play together back in the day.

Is there any agreement about inactivity? - ex: after a week (or whatever) if we haven't heard from you, you pass.

I'll put together a new deck and let you both know when I am ready.

I wonder if Chaosium would be willing to put a blurb on their webpage about the site?

Good point! And my wife is likely to be of the same mindset. :)

I think it makes for a better experience, but as I said I've no issues with
people not using it either.

Absolutely, the more the merrier!

We haven't done that in the past. Usually we just wait, but if you want to
institute that rule I don't have any issues with it.

Hmm that's a thought! I don't know if they'd have any issue with me posting
card images or not?

Hello all

Everything seems fine with me. I would like to use the old repoint
system as it means I have a deck all ready to go, but if we decide to
use the repoint, let me know asap and I will rebuild the deck I want
to use.

Hope we get a new game going soon.

Thanks

Carol :}

Well, to answer my last question, I tweeked my deck so it can work in
either point system, so you folks decide which system you want to
use. This means I'm all ready to go for a new game when you are.

And remember, Peter, if you're still out there and want to play, we
can run two games at the same time

Thanks

Carol :}

A quick update -

My friend Shawn is interested in joining in, but needs to dust off his cards and will need a little time.  And I'm going to be traveling all this week, so it may be next week before I am ready to start a new game.
