developing MythBoxee for the new version of Boxee, the new UI is
amazing!

spectacular.

Wow the new version of Boxee supports HTML5, which the recordings from
MythTV were in ogg or mp4 format.

I'm so stoked for the Boxee 1.0 as well as the Box. Wish I had a
pre-order that was getting shipped to my house.

According to my shipping information I should be receiving mine tomorrow.

If any of you have questions about it or its capabilities or how well
it works, feel free to ask me and I'll do my best to test and answer
them.

I found your project and am just wondering how things are coming along
with the actual Boxee Box.
I'm seriously considering buying one and your project makes it even
more tempting since it would give me a nice frontend for my MythTV
setup to the family TV (which currently isn't connected at all to the
MythTV box or my media collection - except when I run cables from my
room through the living room to it - but Mom doesn't really like
that... :P ).

How are you liking the Boxee Box itself so far?
Most of the reviews I see are positive, with the exception of people
complaining about the new UI (I haven't used Boxee at all so that's
not an issue - and I understand they are addressing the complaints),
and the lack of NetFlix support (which is supposedly coming soon, and
also doesn't matter to me since we have a Wii).

Have you tested it over WiFi?
I currently have G running, but am planning to upgrade to N as soon as
the access point I want (Ubiquiti Networks PowerAP N) is available to
purchase.

Thanks!

The current nightly version works just fine on the Boxee Box, it is
admittedly a little slow to load the initial time.

I am currently working on speeding it up by disabling logging and
working to see if there is any other way to get better improvement in
load times.

Hopefully in the next week I'll have a more stable release out.

As for the Box, I personally love it. There is a group of us who are
working on hacking it and learning as much as we can about the
structure and the hardware. All that info is at
http://boxeeboxwiki.org.

Personally I haven't had any issues with the box, and I would highly
recommend you get one.

It is a 1st gen product with a 1st gen version of the UI so there will
be bugs, but they will get worked out.

I am using mine via wifi all the time, I have an N router but it is in
G, N mixed mode, I don't honestly know what the box is operating at,
but I haven't had any issues.

Finally, welcome to the project. Hope you enjoy the app.

Thanks!
That solidified my decision to order. :)

I can't wait to try it out with my local media and with Mythboxee!
