Nick Ronan is a new member to our old Google Groups site so he is on the mailing list. He also posted a couple of very nice photos to our new Facebook site.

Hi everyone. Great to have this resource here and be able to pick your collective brains. I had the chance to meet Peter and Nancy of Ladybug on that Fall trip as well as Jim, Dana, and Craig and Amy in Mystic. We actually ended up installing that Luke cabin heater out on the hook the day after you took me out to see Ptarmigan.  I've also caught a glimpse of Nutmeg out in New Rochelle. Great looking boats!

Optimystic had been neglected for several years after her previous owner's death. The goal last season was to tackle the jobs to get her sailable and then sail her as much as possible to get to know her and figure out what she needs. After redoing %90 of the wiring, putting in new electronics, replacing the rotten compression post base, rebedding all the deck hardware, and replacing the water tank, there wasn't much time for cosmetics!

Here's the current project shortlist:

Cutlass Bearing - Done!
Reseal companionway hatch
Replace holding tank
Remove and clean fuel tanks and add inspection ports
Install Autopilot
New electric bilge pumps
Address spongy rudder (currently drying out)

I see there's a lot of links to other projects on this group, but most appear to be dead. Are these archived anywhere?

I downloaded as much as I could before Google axed the old "groups" product. I am re installing the photos where they are missing. I'll sen to the group when done. 

I would really like the old groups back so does anyone know of a different product we could use? Blogspot?
