Hi All,

Once again, I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by!  Have done some wonderful sailing but it's all been local (lower LIS) and am hoping to get away for a much needed vacation within the next two weeks.
I've always thought it would be great to rendezvous somewhere with other mystic 10-3 owners and was wondering if anyone else was planning any trips soon?
It would be wonderful if a few of us could actually do it.

I'm flexible on my itinerary, just thought I'd head east and ultimately make it out to Block Island, and then depending on time maybe even Martha's Vineyard.
I still need to sit down and plan this out, but thought I'd put it out to see if it were a possibility for anyone else.

Thanks,
Sylvia

We can't get up there with Papoose but will be there early October by car.

Hi Jim,

Sorry you won't be able to make it, but when you do head up here by car let me know.
It would be lovely to meet for a drink, or even take you for a sail on Nutmeg.

Thanks,
Sylvia

We just finished our cruise aboard Chatte de Mer.  We did a week around the coves, harbors and islands of northern Casco Bay.  We are sorry to miss the rendezvous.  I will post some pictures to the group.  if anyone wants to cruise this far north please let me know.

Here is one taken as a friend's Pearson 32 and I went by Wood Island light just outside our home port.

BTW, we still have September.  Don't give up yet!

Finished a 4 week cruise to Maine and back about 2 weeks ago.  Will be staying in Eastern LIS waters the rest of the season.  Let me know your plans as they develop.

Dave,

We started in Old Saybrokk, hit Point Judith the first day, then Onset.  Went through the CC Canal, and started for Maine, but wind veered to NE, and fog rolled in.  Went to starboard tack and sailed to Scituate.  Left Scituate at noon the next day, sailed overnight to Cape Small, arriving noon the next day.  Spent two nights in Cape Small Harbor, then three in The Basin.  Went to Orr's Cove and spen two nights at Great Island Boatyard.  From there hit Potts Harbor for one night, then sailed to The Goslings. Spent two nights there, then went to So. Freeport where my wife was disappointed that the shuttle to L.L. Bean had been discontinued.  Next day sailed to Falmouth Foreside.  Next day to South Portland, Centerboard Y.C.  Then motored to Wood Island Harbor, a horribly rolly anchorage.  Then motored to York Harbor (very light air for days, and on the nose all the time).  Spent two nights in York Harbor, as we got fogged in.  My wife loved it there.  Then motored on to Manchester-by-the-Sea, where the Y.C gives free moorings.  Then on to Scituate again.  Finbally got to sail for a couple hours upon leaving Scituate in the morning, but the wind quit by the time we reach Mafry Ann Rock.  Motored on and cought the current in the CC Canal and sailed across Buzzards Bay to Hadley's Harbor.  Next day through Woods Hole to Lake Tashmoo.  Next moring went to Cuttyhunk, through Canapitsit Channel.  Nice day at Cuttyhunk, where we hit the annual church fair and library book sale.  Left Cuttyhunk next morning and arrived at Peter Legnos's dock at Groton Long Point in Fisher's Island Sound and went out to dinner with Peter.  Left Groton Long Point against the tide, as thunderstorms were predicted, and got to our home mooring just ahead of the storm.  All in all, we had great weather, light air, Nancy enjoyed it, and the crew (Charlie, the ship's rat catcher) survived and thrived on having his staff available 24/7.

All we've done is sweat. What a hot summer here!

Sounds fantastic!

I am amazed that you did Scituate to Cape Small - that is a long way!

Our cruise was to Snow Island in Quohog Bay the first night.  Picked up a mooring there.  Love that spot!  Then the next day we went around to the Basin for lunch and then to Bear Island for the night.  We then spent two days in Sebasco Harbor Resort, one of Mel's favorite places.  Then met friends at Little Eagle Island around the corner from Potts Harbor.  The last night we spent at Dolphin Marina in Potts Harbor.  So it sounds like we were all in the same area!

Wood Island is our home port.  Much better to come up the Saco.  If you decide to do it again we really need to meet up.

Glad you had a nice time.

David

I concur! All sounds absolutely great and the very reason we all have boats.
And the best winds are yet to come with the fall.
