1) After checking around for the source of some spam
messages, I noticed that all of our members in good
standing have been members for over two weeks
and set things so that all current members can post
without moderation. Given a recent attempted spam
flood, I would recommend leaving anyone who joins
moderated for at least a week unless they contribute
a non-spam message within that time.

2) I have not had time to do much with the Mystara4E
yahoogroup in over three weeks. I set up enough
directories to make the intended overall pattern
obvious. If any of you have something you would
like to upload, please feel free to join that group,
upload your file(s), and notify this group. Let me
know if there is anything you are unable to do
there with the current settings -- I started to give
somebody Moderator privileges there but saw no
necessity from the available options. The address
to join the yahoogroup is
mystara4e...@yahoogroups.com

3) We probably should establish a presence on
Piazza, but I do not want to take charge of it or
be responsible for it in any way. If you frequently
read and post to Piazza, please feel free to take
the steps needed to set up a Mystara4E section
there.

4) I am guessing that nobody has heard anything
about a fan site policy. I assume that it will
have to be more liberal than the GSL, either the
old or the upcoming revised version -- after all,
we are hoping to be able to use a major portion
of TSR's copyrighted material (now owned by
WotC) and most 4E core material (even much
that is not in the SRD) without antagonizing
anyone. Since we are hoping to put all converted
material in the Vaults of Pandius anyway, we
should be in good shape even if they insist that
fan material for old settings go to certain
designated sites.

5) I would like to start a discussion of 4e sources
to use for conversion. I will expand on this topic
in a separate message.

I've requested a Mystara 4E project forum, but Ashtagon hasn't replied
yet - probably because there hasn't been enough discussion to prove
its warranted. (The other project forums all had existing work to
prove they were viable.)

Ah -- then uploading some conversion files and talking
about them should do the trick. I have a few items in
the works, and I know that a few people here have
outlined some interesting ideas. Anyway, I primarily
wanted to be sure I wasn't holding anybody back.

I'd suggesting posting in the Mystara forum with the subject line
starting with "[Mystara 4E]" so that the mods (and others!) can easily
tell the 4E threads from general discussion.

Are we thinking of this as a pure conversion project?  It seems as if that's the default line of thinking.

I'm just checking.

Not at all. Most of the postings I have seen so far have
been adventure and encounter ideas not directly based
on previously published materials. The folders I set up
in the Yahoogroup include folders for such items -- so
I want to encourage posting of whatever anyone is
developing. So far we don't seem to have enough
going on here to warrant splitting things up.

The material I am working on personally is mostly
pure conversion -- but there is no reason to limit
other people's efforts that way. So upload away,
and then after a few weeks of review ask Stan to
copy it over to the Vaults.
