offers solutions to various questions under the feature 'Ask Expert'.
However, this facility is available only for members and only for the
requests submitted through the site
myssc.in. Hence it is not
necessary that mySSC support will answer all the questions on this
forum. Group members are welcome to post articles and to proceed the
discussions.
English as First language or Higher English :
For Higher English, questions of 43 marks are based on matter out of
textbook. Out of these, 18 marks are allotted for unseen passages.
There are 2 unseen passages with questions of 9 marks each. The
question pattern is as follows :
1. 3 simple factual questions : 3 M ( 1 M for each )
2. 4 grammar questions : 4 M ( 1 M for each )
3. 1 personal response question : 2M
Read the passage carefully to answer the factual questions. Understand
the question and write appropriate answer. Grammar questions are based
on the grammar learnt till now. Thus, one can score 100% marks in
factual questions and grammar questions. Answer the personal response
question in about 3 to 6 lines. The answer should be appropriate and
without grammar/spelling mistakes. Thus, it is very easy to score full
marks in questions based on seen and unseen passages.
Only practice will help to score remaining 25 marks that are
distributed as given below :
Letter writing : 5 M
Information transfer or Leaflet : 5 M
Speech writing or dialogue writing : 5 M
Report writing or interview questions : 5 M
Expansion of idea : 5 M
English as Third language or Lower English :
For Lower English, questions of 40 marks are based on matter out of
textbook. Of these, 20 marks are allotted for unseen passages. There
are 2 unseen passages with questions of 10 marks each. The question
pattern is as follows :
1. 2 simple factual questions : 2 M ( 1 M for each )
2. 1 complex factual question : 2 M
3. 2 grammar questions : 2 M ( 1 M for each )
4. 1 grammar question : 2 M
5. 1 personal response question : 2M
