Candidate must have strong PL/SQL and Oracle experience along with backend Java skills. Must have superior communication skills as this person will be interacting with the business team. Details are below, please send me any candidates that meet this skills along with location and rate:

 

Top Three Skills:

 

1) Advanced PL/SQL Experience- Stored Procedures, triggers, views, joins, selects, updates, etc. Create queries, triggers, etc. from scratch.

 

2) Backend Java/J2EE Development- ability to write code from scratch. Web Services (SOAP/REST)- creating from scratch as well as consuming.

 

3) Oracle 10g and 11i experience- Does not need to be a DBA, but familiar with how these DB's work.

Job Description:

 

The Portal team is continuing migration efforts from their legacy platform to their new PaaS platform.

 

Day to Day: This person will work with a lead to help develop migration packages. For the first 2-3 months, they will completely focus on learning the current data migration strategy, and all code involved- whether it be SQL, PL/SQL, or Java. After they have mastered this, they would be doing code enhancements for the migration, creating backend applications, and also backend services for internal and external applications as part of the PaaS solution. This will be HEAVY SQL and PL/SQL, pulling data and moving data from Oracle 10g and 11i databases for migration efforts. One product is on 11i and another is moving from 10g to 11i. They have DBA's on the team, so this person does not need to have those skills (tuning, etc).

 

ON CALL ROTATION: 1-2 times per month this person will be asked to be on-call. Thursday nights from 9PM-6AM and weekend 24/7. They would need to be able to login within 10-15 mins to triage the escalated tickets. There are several levels of support before it would get to this person, and there have not been many tickets at all, but this person needs to be available. Their hours will be adjust properly if they work during these on call times. Will only have to work 40 hours a week!
