Atrius Althorand The leader of Orgard's thief guild and a former Amanor aristocrat.

  • Big Brother Instinct: He cares for his sister, Laeni, and is fond of his apprentice Pots as well. When Eldromus Blackheart kills Laeni, Atrius swears revenge and eventually deals the finishing blow to Blackheart.
  • Blade Spam: He can also use Lacerate, but his version of the skill is tied to Atreyu's Doublet rather than something he can learn naturally.
  • Crutch Character: He starts in the low 20s and is much stronger than Pots who starts at level 1. Once the party catches up to his level, he's still fairly powerful, but doesn't have the sheer DPS potential of Pots.
  • Duel Boss: When Wein tries to investigate the Paladin murders in Sovereign, Atrius tries to mug him, resulting in a one-on-one boss fight.
  • Lovable Rogue: He may be a smug assassin, but he goes to great lengths to keep his sister safe. Despite Pots leaving the guild, Atrius is still willing to help him escape from Azrael and has the guild stall the Gauf. He is also sympathetic to the plight of Amanor's citizens and wants to have Korin reclaim the throne in order to restore the country to its former glory.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: His no witnesses policy causes Pots to kill the Mythos family, leading to Virgil become an evil mage.
  • Unwitting Pawn: During the Veil of the Black Hand quest, it's revealed that his assistant, Gerard, helped him start his own thief guild as part of the Black Hand's agenda.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: In his flashbacks of when he escaped the slaughter of his family, he was a wide-eyed youth who couldn't imagine the idea of such an evil deed. In the present, he's a ruthless thief guild leader.

Agramed Oslo A former Osirian general who was enslaved for supposedly attacking Chieftain Moreth.

  • Dual Wielding: He can wield axes and greatswords in both hands.
  • Frame-Up: The truth behind his enslavement is that he was trying to keep Moreth from killing High Chieftain Jomerys, but then got framed for trying to kill Moreth.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: The first battle against him is impossible to win without obscene overleveling. In the next battle with him, he's nerfed so that Bruger can beat him solo.
  • Made a Slave: Unlike other slaves, Agramed is stuck with permanent slave status for attacking another chief and cannot be freed, even if he wins gladiator championships.
  • Support Party Member: While he's strong offensively, his main role in battle is to apply group buffs, which don't cost him anything. When Laeni is killed by Blackheart, he's becomes the only source of group buffs until her past self is extracted into the present.
  • Worf Had the Flu: In his first duel with Bruger, he was injured from a Netherbeast attack, keeping him from fighting at his best. When Bruger rematches him in the special solo cup, Agramed becomes one of the toughest solo battles in the game.

Grindelwald Maultor The seemingly immortal emperor of Validus, who corrupted the First Men into serving him.

  • Assimilation Backfire: In the ending where he wins his boss battle, Virgil casts Singularity on him, but Maultor takes over Virgil from the inside. Averted in the normal ending, where he's too wounded to fight back.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He's a demagogue who uses his charisma and promises of safety and order to gain his people's favor. In reality, he only uses them as a means to kill the elves and claim the Hourgem of Valnyr.
  • The Corrupter: A flashback reveals he took the First Men into the Tower of Illyrium and performed a ritual that turned them into the Gauf, bringing out their worst personality traits.
  • The Dragon: Subverted. He claims to be the champion of the One True God, Malviticus. He's actually Malviticus in a relatively weaker human form.
  • God-Emperor: Inverted. He's the emperor of Validus, is immortal, and is the strongest human in the world, but claims to merely be a powerful servant of Malviticus. He's actually Malviticus's avatar.
  • God in Human Form: He's Malviticus's human avatar, who wants to regain his original divine form after being banished from the Celestial Realm.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: He claims that the elves need to be killed in order to end the Blight that caused all of Validus's lands to become infertile. He's the one who caused the Blight and wants to kill the elves to take their Hourgem of Valnyr and spite the other gods.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He fights the party before doing anything about Virgil, who he already knows is a backstabber and is an equal or greater threat than the party. This gets him killed in the normal ending, where he's unable to counter Virgil's Singularity.
  • Walking Spoiler: Since he's really the god, Malviticus, who was originally thought to be his boss, he's hard to talk about without spoilers.

A mysterious contract from the royal family sparks the interest of an organized band of sellswords. What seems like a normal job quickly spirals into a whirlwind of betrayal and tragedy, thrusting a young rogue and his unlikely companions into the middle of an ancient prophecy.

Gaias Strengths
Gaia is excellent at map control. Her economy is just plain sweet. Her raids are swift and deadly(when done correct). She has Gaias forest. Finally she is the best god for suprise attacks. Using Gaias True Power!
Gaia is excellent at map control. You should always be ahead of your enemy and have a turma at each gold mine asap to watch for when the enemy expands to a new mine. Forward building is a must becuase Gaia is easy to rush so you must make your enemy think twice about rushing by having a forward on him before he gets it on you. You want to make him think you are stronger than you are thus keeping him from rushing you and making you defend. Also map control wins games and your turma can be spamed fast and cheap then soon after cherio. Use your turma to scout and raid all of the gold mines while your cherio defend your forward. If your cherio need help the turma can quickly reach them from any place on the map. Your execusion of this map control tactic is key to using this goddes. Next is your eco you absolutly have to adapt your eco quickly to produce counter units cherio take up a large pop space so you will most likly be outnumbered a little so u have to have the unit counters to even out the odds meaning you gotta have your eco support your units that are being made at all times. Eco upgrades have to be gotten asap becuase eco is where u shine vs other civs. Lamas must always be used for gold b/c they are so cheap only 100 food along with boats that are 45 wood(Gaias Forest). Economy then leads on to what a great raider she is. Gaias turma are a counter archer unit giving them good peirce armor so use them for raids arrows are weak vs them they are fast and easily massed. Always raid with your turma exspecially when the enemy goes for that second gold mine. Constant raiding will keep him guessing where and how strong you really are. Your raids will do heavy damage to his gold supply making them very deadly. Gaias forest keeps your wood eco great what else can i say about it. Lastly and probaly her best strenght is she can suprise any player easily. Most people dont play Gaia therefore know one really is that familiar vs her. But mostly people always expect a Gaia player to boom and Gaia can do way more than a boom. She does rushing/raiding and turtle excelent its just overlooked b/c its so hard to pull of with her. I personaly suggest a heavy raiding/rushing style of play b/c everyone assumes she cant raid/rush well so they are suprised when you pull it of well and kick there ass. Besides when you suprise your opponent theyfreak out and panic then lose focus worry and resign. Suprise is the best war tactic you can have. Final Thoughts
When using Gaia always focus be fast and aware. Use all her bonuses you will need everyone of them. She is going to be a pain to play vs rushing civs ie. norse. Know your units and what they are good at. Finaly dont relie on BO to heavily they are just a general idea of how to get your eco going and must be ajusted during every game asap. I hope you enjoyed my Gaia Guide and any positive feedback would be appreciated. AuthorReplies: raccoonlord

great guide!anyone can make a guide about someone like loki or hades but gaia is hard.i also love how you brought it all together at the end so we can take in what we just read.i think more people should do thatone thing you might want to do the guide in segements and have them like in points or something.that looks more attractive and makes it easier to understand.look forward to more guides in future. Mortal posted 19 October 2004 08:39 PM EDT (US) 3 / 28 One thing i forgot to add in my guide is that automen are great infantry and counter MUs and human units well also cherios will kill the heros fast enought to keep your automen alive. Spider Lair also is great for evening out the odds Leto should really be considered for classic god. yukito
Mortal posted 19 October 2004 09:04 PM EDT (US) 4 / 28 You might wish to put a little more information on gaia's lush. (yes, i know there is a lush guide already =P) KoEDrunkenMonkey
Mortal posted 19 October 2004 09:16 PM EDT (US) 5 / 28 Yukito i didnt put any info on lush b/c its a straight forward concept but lush does protect your buildings from being destroyed by a tartarian gate and keeps underworld from being directly in your base. Also it does keep enemys from building on it so a eco guild by an empty setlement would be ok early on to slow down the enemy from taking it but like i said before i didnt add it b/c its so straight foward and not really a strength or power of gaias but i add it in here for you anyway. a192
Mortal posted 19 October 2004 09:59 PM EDT (US) 6 / 28 The only problem of gaia is that they can't counter MU early. I can beat 1800 gaia players but not 1750 isis players with loki. If she can pick minor god Prometheus in classical, I am sure she becomes another Isis. One of the best defensive god, cheaper economy upgrade, building regenerate hp, block gd with Hesperides tree in heroic age, gaia forest & lush.Stat for Greek Gd

Mortal posted 19 October 2004 10:10 PM EDT (US) 7 / 28 Gaia can counter MUs contrary to popular belief just promote your turmas to heros and if you dont have the resources for it your playing her eco wrong. Also the automata have a multiplied attack vs other MUs. Also Gaia doesnt defend well thats why shes rushed so much. Besides how can any attie defend well when there buildings have such low HP. a192
Mortal posted 20 October 2004 06:08 AM EDT (US) 8 / 28 you're my hero if you can handle early MU rush in high level game. If I face Gaia, I usually advance 4:20 as loki and begin to rush with hero & MU. The key point is to rush as soon as possible with MU and don't let Gaia time and resources to upgrade her economy. I do not mean Gaia can't handle MU rush at all, for example, cast forest tree on tower is one solution. But two ppl with same skill level loki rush most likely can beat Gaia.Stat for Greek Gd

Mortal posted 20 October 2004 05:50 PM EDT (US) 9 / 28 u can get a decent eco for turma heros wit gaia easy at 4:20 a192
Mortal posted 20 October 2004 09:30 PM EDT (US) 10 / 28 Come on, it is known issue that Atlantean have problem to handle MU in early classical if they do not pick Prometheus. No point to argue if you really think you can afford 90W, 75G & 3 Favor to convert each single turma hero(you need few of them probably early) with decent eco at 4:20.Again, I do not mean Gaia can't handle MU rush at all but two ppl with same skill level loki rush most likely can beat Gaia.BTW, I really want to see a recorded game how you advance to classical with 4:20, plus you have 2 barracks + decent eco(it means you upgrade tech already I think?) + few turmas + 2 turmas hero at around 5 minsStat for Greek Gd

Mortal posted 20 October 2004 10:44 PM EDT (US) 11 / 28 I didn't read the full guide. You need to put in more paragraphs. A full page of all words and no spaces is alot harder to read then if you leave some space. I will gladly read it if you edit it and add a little space. KoEDrunkenMonkey
Mortal posted 20 October 2004 11:16 PM EDT (US) 12 / 28 a192 its easy w/ gaias forest u can get automata and turma hero easy by 5:00 if ya know what your doing w/ about 15 favor or so. And the promethean can be killied easy with one turma hero id give ya a rec of it but i dont know how to post recs. As far as what u said about 2 equal players going at it w/one as gaia other loki rusher yea i agree rusher will have better chance but his MU rush is overated and people really dont know how to play gaia well cuase most gaia players are noobs thats is my whole purpose of writing this guide to help them out a little so us gaia players stop getting flamed so much. Mortal posted 20 October 2004 11:20 PM EDT (US) 13 / 28 jj11188 i wont be editing this guide sorry either u are interested enought to read it or not and its not in paragraphs becuase it would break up the flow of it. Anyway its worth the trouble to read its a different post style yes but that doesnt mean its not good or worth the read. a192
