The purpose of BudgetSimple is to create a monthly spending plan that has you spending less than you make, and then logging your actual expenses against that plan. You'd be surprised how well doing this works.

5 Tips for Getting Started:

1. The first month, just create a plan that has you spending less than you make (not counting savings). Make a plan that sounds realistic, but don't sweat the details so much, just make sure all of your mandatory expenses (like rent and loan payments) are budgeted and your income estimate is conservative (better to plan for lower income and have extra).

2. In month two, look at your actual spending from the previous month compared to your budget. Where did things go wrong or right? Adjust your budget for the second month to match closer to reality.

3. By month three, you should be seeing a real difference in your finances, it's time to start getting advanced. Focus on cutting into your debt, building savings, or growing your wealth.

4. Follow our blog and reply to this email if you need any help!

5. First eliminate debt, then build an emergency fund, then grow your wealth. This is just the start!
