Instructions for Opening the Email Statement

  1. Click on the attachment provided with this mail.

  2. You will be prompted for your password.

  3. The password is your Customer ID.

  4. Your Customer ID is mentioned on your Cheque Book / Welcome Letter received as part of the Account Opening kit

  5. If you encounter any problem in opening your Email Statement, please check the following

    • You will need to check if you have used your correct Primary Customer ID

    • Your system has Internet Explorer version 5.5 or above.

    • Your Web / IT / Email administrator allows emails with attachment.

  6. Depending on your personal spam filter settings it is possible that the Email Statement may be directed to your junk folder rather than your inbox. Please check in both

  7. Please ensure page settings before taking a print.

Important messages for Fixed Deposit Account holders (Applicable for resident accounts)

  • Pursuant to CBDT Circular No03/11 dated 13-05-11, with effect from 01-04-11TDS certificates will be issued ONLY to customer who have furnished a valid PAN Number. Customers, who do not have a valid PAN Number(as per Bank as well as IT records), would not be able to claim a refund with the Income Tax Dept as TDS deducted shall not reflect in 26AS in absence of valid PAN.
    You are requested to update your PAN with the Bank as well as IT Dept at the earliest. Pls visit the nearest HDFC Bank branch AND log onto http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in
  • Form 15G/H to be submitted every Financial year for exisiting deposits,within the first week of April . Fresh form 15G/H need to be submitted for all subsequent deposit booked.
  • Please further note that in the absence of PAN 15G/H & other exemption certificates will be invalid even if submitted.
  • Any interest/Maturity payout < Rs 100,shall be credited to the linked operative account, if any, irrespective of the instruction given at the time of booking of the deposit or changed anytime during the tenure of the deposit.

Important messages for Salary Account holders

  • In the event of no salary credits for any continuous three months, the salary account will be converted to regular savings account. Please refer to the T&C for further details.

Important message for customers:


Overseas Forex Trading through internet trading portals
  • As per RBI guidelines, sending money overseas for foreign exchange trading using internet trading portals is strictly prohibited.
  • Use of Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Forex Cards or bank accounts are not permitted for this purpose - either directly or indirectly.
  • The Bank will be forced to close any account or card where such transactions occur. For further details click here

For Debit Card holders

The daily shopping limit for Debit Cards will be revised effective 17th July 2014. Now you can do more with your Debit Card at retail stores and online shopping sites.

The following are the revised limits:

If you would like to change the daily shopping limit of your Debit Card, please contact your Relationship Manager or visit your nearest branch.
If you have previously modified your daily shopping limits, those limits will continue to apply.

Note: Daily ATM cash withdrawal limits remain unchanged.

Change in Debit Card CashBack and Accidental Death Insurance Feature

Effective 1st July 2014, continue getting CashBack on Debit Cards* across all categories except fuel, jewelley, insurance, services like mutual funds and govt payments etc.

Effective 1st July 2014, your Debit Card* needs to be used once every month, at stores or online, to keep your FREE Personal Accidental Death Insurance cover active.

‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) details
  • As per the RBI guidelines, Banks are required to periodically update customer identification documents, including photograph. In this connection we request you to submit at your nearest branch a self attested copy of your identity proof, address proof and latest photograph along with a duly filled Customer Updation Form within a month of receipt of this statement. The customer updation form is available at our branches. Also you can download the same from our website-www.hdfcbank.com under forms centre. The above instructions are also applicable to all the joint holders in the account. As the submission of these documents is mandatory in nature, inability to furnish these might constrain us to initiate steps in accordance with RBI guidelines.
  • If you have already submitted the above documents in the recent past please ignore this message.
AML updation
  • As per RBI guidelines, data on your Customer Profile Form will be used by banks for mandatory monitoring of your account transactions. Accordingly, please ensure all information provided on your Customer Profile Form is accurate and current. To check information held on your Customer Profile, please contact any of our branches. Updating your Customer Profile information is simple. Just log on to NetBanking and click on the "Contact details" section. You can also download a "Customer Profile Updation Form" from our Form Centre on the website and submit it at any of our branches.
CTS 2010 Standard Cheques
  • Only cheque books issued after Aug 2011 are CTS 2010 compliant. If you received your cheque-book before August 2011, you are requested to order a new one. Please note, from 1st May 2014 to 31st October 2014, non CTS cheques clearance will be limited to twice a week (Mondays and Fridays). From 1st November 2014 onwards this will be reduced to only once a week (Mondays).
  • As per the Cheque Truncation System (CTS) guidelines issued by Reserve Bank of India, cheques with alterations and corrections will be returned unpaid. Please do not issue or accept cheques with alterations or corrections.

If no objection is made within 30 days or before further instructions are given by the customer, the same shall be conclusive evidence as against the customer without any further proof that the statement or report is correct and the bank shall be free from all claims in respect thereto. Under no circumstances, including negligence, shall HDFC Bank or anyone involved in creating, producing, delivering or managing customer statement of account, be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that may result from the use or inability to use the service or out of the breach of any warranty. The use and storage of any information including without limitation, password, account information, transmission activity, account balances and any other information available on the customer’s personal computer is at customer’s own risk, sole responsibility and liability. HDFC Bank may withdraw, add to or modify the internet Banking facilities from time to time by notice to the customer. While advance notice of maintenance work likely to affect the Internet Banking facilities shall be given, Bank reserves the right to suspend, upon notice, access to Internet Banking facilities or the provision of all or any of the services at any time if the bank deems it necessary to do so in the event of an emergency (opinion of Bank to be conclusive in this respect) or for security reasons. Nothing contained herein shall prejudice or affect the terms and conditions of the account opening agreement.
