Two same SIDs in TMS

Hi,

 

I have a question that may be very straight forward for many of you. I have two systems with same SID but different hosts. One of which is a copy of another and is domain controller with the only system in that TMS configuration. The other is in a domain with another domain controller.

 

Question I have is: Can a TMS landscape accomodate two systems with same SID but different host? What are the consequences? I haven't tried this myself and don't have liberty to play around with the domain but even before I suggest this to anyone I would like to know more about the possibilities thereof.

 

Usually when we add a system it asks for SID as well as the Host information. So, not sure but I abruptly remember trying this earlier and seeing an error saying that a system with same SID already exists in the domain.

 

Please advise and let me know if more information is needed.

you can add it as external system but as there is already one same SID existing you cann't add another one with the same name.

 

See if you can perform a dbcopy on one of your DEV system to change the SID and later on add onto this
