For the past couple of days, I have been having an odd problem with
MyPod (full, registered).

When I reboot my phone, it starts playing the last podcast I was
listening to, from the beginning. It plays in the background (evn
though the background player is disabled), and does not have any
controls to stop the playback. It doesn't show in the player, even if
I enable the background player.

If I kill the MyPod process, it just starts playing again (from the
beginning) as soon as the process re-spawns.

The only solution I have found is to uninstall the app. If I re-
install it, it works fine until the next reboot.

I am using a Motorola DroidX.

I love the app, and have been using it for over a year. This just
started happening a couple of days ago, and I haven't made any
changes. Until I get some answer, I'll probably just install it on my
Tablet, but the phone is far more convenient.

I appreciate any hints you can give me.

SO you cant even go into the player and stop it?

Maybe try long pressing the pause button while it happens?

Has it only happened since the latest version was installed 995.27? ...

Are there downloads scheduled? maybe try removing them?

Maybe try disabling the autoupdater and rebooting - that is the only service that should start on boot... settings > uncheck "update feeds automatically"

that's a crazy one ... not very sure where to start. No-one else has reported it.

you might be able to send me you log file after boot if it happens - theres and app called logcollector (xtralogixc) that reads and sends it as a mail (to bu...@my-pod.org - dont post it here...)

let me know how you get on...

best

My problem is similar in many ways.  Mine starts playing in the middle of the night (morning)- I think when it is done downloading.  I'm also on a Motorola Razr (no-x).  It's done this for 2 years.  Full purchased version.  I couldn't go back to sleep this morning!!  It doesn't happen every night.  Maybe when I pause in the middle of a 'cast...  I can stop it, but I have to wake up and walk over to it!!!
