MyPeace "Clear the Air and Look Ahead" Meeting

Hi Everyone,

Well, so far the following people have responded to the Doodle poll
that I posted last week:
Peter Bergel
Bob AnGyo Brown
Dan Zeit
Sherry Burge
Linda Coons
Tim Buckley
Joanne Scharer

Carrie says she's "just here" so she's open for anytime during her work day.

Mark, Jenn, Jonathan and Carlie did not fill out the poll.

Everyone except Bob can make Tuesday, Dec. 7 at noon. That was the
time the most respondents could make it. The only time Bob could
attend would let out 3 others. Thus, I suggest everyone put Tuesday
at noon on their calendars.

Linda feels very strongly that we should not meet at the OPW office,
so I have asked her to arrange a different place and let everyone
know where that is and what her arrangements are. If she, or someone
else, does not make such arrangements in time, I propose that we go
ahead and meet at OPW. I am happy to meet anywhere else that someone arranges.

Tim has indicated a willingness to facilitate, Linda has said we
don't need a facilitator. I'm going with the flow. Same regarding the agenda.

Hope to see you all on Tuesday.

I'll clear my calendar to accommodate the group.  I will also contact Marc and Michelle and send messages out to other MyPeace Project organizers, who invested their time and effort equally and who are now actively working to promote healing, peace, and justice in other cities, states, and countries.

Linda please contact me about a location.  I think Marco Polo has a nice banquet space, as do several other downtown or near downtown spots. A room at the Salem Public Library may be open and Queen of Tarts may cater lunch.  If any of you want to talk, I'll be back from training and meeting with folks in Eugene, to co-create another organization dedicated to promoting healing and peace in our community (not that I know anything about such stuff!), to help Jan Michael Looking Wolf produce his concert at the Grand Theater on Saturday evening.  You may catch me there!  :-)

thanks Peter , I am working on a place. will try to get back today asap.

and as to a facilitator --if we do in fact have to have one--it has to be one

who is neutral to this whole group.  No on whithin the group can do this --

it does not  won't work . since this is a late date to engage a trained person to do this--like Jerry Braza.  then it needs to be unstructured by default and we "do the best we can" as intelligent , well intentioned caring beings who are indeed

not perfect.  Remember  this is not a typical   "business as usual meeting!"

People forget this and so we dont need to race thro with an agenda from

one "oversight person" who may not know what is on my agenda or

sherry's agenda or Carli'e agenda , etc;, This time lets have  some fun!

some how!! 

My allusion to pillow fights and pupply piles was metaphoric, Peter.  It was to

illustrate an actual vision of how fun could look and then try to go in that direction.

Not in the direction of our typical past group meetings.  this needs to be out of the box so to speak--to break the old pardigm andmake a new one.  The old way

is fine ...but now the new begins.  gota run to see what is available.

what about David and Lenny!  David posted are they still in Mexico?

Can Carrie leave the office??

Hi OPW folks;

Linda, I did post about maybe partitioning the new OPW hard drive for both MAC and Windows use/

But we (Lennie and David) are still in Mexico and will be for several months to say the least.  We arrived here 2 weeks ago to a disastrous plumbing situation in our house which is still not fixed, sad to say - plus many other problems with our house - the house is way too big for us - but we have had lots of guests over the 5 years we have been here in the winter so that has been a big plus.  We are going to sell the house this winter.  Too big and too much maintenance - 5 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms - basically a mansion.

So we obviously will not be at any meetings or parties but we wish all of you the best - in all your efforts - and have a great Christmas and New Year.

David,Thank you for taking time to reply ! I saw your post to Peter and Br. Bob
wow you are such a great resource.  We will  so have a big empty space when we meet

the last time-- two dynamos humming smoothly and producing such energy when the

charge was needed you two came forth big time.  Ohhh.....if you could just serenade us

at the meeting while you teach us to paint a tranquil  riverside scene.   I am so sorry to hear about 

the house!   Not quite the vacation you were looking forward to and could use. 

I hope to keep in touch as you and Lennie are such good company to be in!

As I understand it, Linda, you've got a room downstairs at the Library at noon and I hope everyone gets the message to meet there. Thanks for doing that. I'll be there and so will Carrie and Dan.

About the agenda and facilitation, as I said, I'll go with the flow.
