Hi. I am looking at an experiment where I will need 8 channels of information. Unfortunately an amplifier with 8 channels (+/- and common ground between all) would be pretty expensive.

However - If I feed all of the electrodes into a pair of CMOS 4051 I can then cycle through the channels feeding the output into an Advancer Tech Mk 3.

Will this work or would the circuit noise overwhelm the signal levels.

Many thanks
Dave

David -

I'll defer to the electrical engineers here, but all the graphs in that spec sheet describe signals in volts rather than millivolts. Further, assuming that you're interested in doing pattern recognition, you're going to get signal loss in a myoelectric signal that contains information up to hundreds of hertz.

Anyone else?
