How much disk space should we allow users?
Currently the hosting provider gives me 100 GB of space. If I give
each user 60MB I can host 1706 users before I need to upgrade. I can
upgrade to 200GB for an addition $6 per month.
DigitalMusician.net allows upto 50MB.
In addition I will be allowing people to link files rather then upload
them. This will allow them to user other free services to host their
files. This will save me on both bandwidth and disk space. It also
allows the user to post more files. The more content we can host the
more attractive the site will be for visitors.
