NEW FEATURES:
- Manage My Media Update. You can now change the information for songs
you have uploaded.
- Song images, you can now upload images for each song you upload
- Project Workspace improvements - A comment is now automatically
added when mixes, documents, loops, or tracks are uploaded. This makes
the workspace a bit more user friendly. Some people may not have
noticed that a new file had been added.
NEW MEMBERS
We have gained several new members in the last few weeks. Log in to
the site, check out there profiles and listen to their tunes.
PROJECTS
The first collaboration project to be completed via MyOnlineBand.com
is almost done. Check out the latest mixes for A Prayer for Maria and
let us know what you think! Thanks to everyone who has contributed.
TRAFFIC
Believe it or not we have been attracting some visitors. According to
my web stats, we have gotten several thousand hits in the past two
weeks. Most of the people are checking out your profiles and listening
to music.
POST SOME TUNES
If you have not yet posted some demo tracks, post them today. As our
traffic increases this will be a great way to promote your music.
COMMING SOON
The MyOnlineBand.com messaging and alerts system is in the final
stages of testing and will be released soon. This will allow you to
subscribe to email alerts so you will know when projects are updated.
It will also allow you to send personal messages to fellow
MyOnlineBand.com users. As an alternative to email, RSS feeds will be
available for each project.

SUBSCRIBE FEATURE
This feature lets you opt-in to receive an email alert whenever a post
is made to a project you are working on. Unlike some of the other
sites, the body of the post is included in the email. This will save
you the trouble of needing to login to view the post.
To use this feature:
1. Log-in to the site and view a project workspace.
2. Click the "Subscribe" button. An alert box will inform you that you
will now receive an email alert.
This feature uses "AJAX" technology. When you click the button, the
screen will not flicker. Also, when posting messages, the alert
process kicks off in the background so that the person posting a new
message will not have to wait for the possessing to complete. In other
works no extra wait time even if 20,000 people are subscribing to your
project.
"PROJECTS I AM PARTICIPATING IN" FEATURE
This is a new item that appears on your dash board page (The page that
is displayed after you login). On the left side of the page you will
see the projects you have started. On the right side you will see all
of the projects that you are participating in. This allows you to
easily navigate to your last project with out having to search for it
(like on some other sites).
START YOUR NEXT COLLABORATION PROJECT AT MYONLINEBAND
If you are planning to start a new project soon, please post it on
MyOnlineBand.com. Ads for your project will be automatically be
submitted so that they appear when people search on Google, Yahoo and
several other sites that I am partnering with. This greatly increases
the talent pool for your projects.

IMPROVED NEW PROJECT WIZARD
The wizard for creating new projects has been improved to allow you to
invite others and create ads for open auditions inside the wizard. You
can now specify the talents you need for your project by simply
selecting a check box next to the talent. Check boxes are provided for
most common talents such as guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. You may
still create more detailed ads from the project workspace page.
HOME PAGE UPDATED
The home page now shows the number of open auditions available grouped
by talent. For example, there are currently 2 positions available for
vocalists and 5 positions available for drums. Clicking the link for
each instrument will bring you to a page that shows the details for
each open audition.
RSS FEEDS FOR OPEN AUDITIONS
You can now subscribe to RSS feeds for open auditions for each talent.
If you are using Firefox (live bookmarks), Internet Explorer 7, or
Internet Explorer 6 with either the Google or Yahoo tool bars you can
take advantage of this feature. After you subscribe to the feed, the
bookmark in your web browser will automatically be added each time a
new open audition is added. The bookmark will be removed automatically
once the position has been filled. If you are using IE 7 with MS
Office 2007 Outlook, information about each open audition will also be
available as an email in the "Feeds" folder.
To subscribe to the feed, from the home page, click the link for the
open positions link for a talent, then click the RSS icon on the upper
right hand corner of the screen.

AUTO-COMPLETE ON ARTIST SEARCH
Now when you search for an artist a list of matches will begin
appearing as you type. For example if you type "sh", "sharkboy" will
appear in the list.
PERSONAL MESSAGES
Myonlineband.com has finally gotten a personal messages system. It is
a cross between myspace and hotmail. You can;
- Send people messages by clicking "Send Message" on a user's
profile page.
- Reply to a message
- On your dash board page you will now see the number of messages
under your inbox
- Message Center lets you browse your emails
- An email alert is sent to a user to let them know that a message
is waiting for them
Lots of new stuff coming soon. If you have any ideas for a new feature
of have found a bug, please let me know and I will try and get it into
the next refresh.

ARTIST TALENT SEARCH
You may now search for artists by talent. The talent search page
displays a list of talents (such as Guitar,Bass...) and the number of
artists on the site with each talent. If you click the category, a
list of artists will be displayed sorted by skill level.

New Features Added
VIDEO TAB ON MUSIC COLLABORATION WORKSPACES
You may now upload and download Video files (WMA format only) in your
project workspaces. This allows you to better communicate how to play
a difficult part of your song or to leave a video message for your
collaboration partners. Video files are automatically added to a new
Video tab on the workspace page.
FRIENDLY FILE NAMES
The file download feature has been enhanced to speed downloads and
make the download process easier. You no longer need to right click to
download. When clicking a download link, you will automatically be
prompted to download the file. The file name will be changed to the
title given to the file when it was uploaded.
USER PROFILE PAGE IMPROVEMENTS
The "Music" Section of your profile now contains an image for each of
your songs. If you have not uploaded a song image, you can add one
using the "Manage Your Music" page. Your profile in addition to
displaying the projects you have started, it also shows active
projects that you have posted one or more files to.
EDIT PROJECT INFO
Project Coordinators may now change the name, description and
categories for a project after it has been created.

IMPROVED MUSIC COLLABORATION PROJECT INVITE FEATURE
You may now invite MyOnlineBand.com member to join your project my
browsing their profile and clicking the "Invite to Join Project" link.
After click the link, you may select a project then invite away! The
Invite Page also allows you to notify MyOnlineband.com users by
specifying their MyOnlineBamd.com user name with a MyOnlineBand.com
email address.
For Example:
joe...@MyOnlineBand.com
You may mix and match both members and non-members in a single invite
requests and may invite up to 10 people at a time.
NEW PROJECT PUBLISHING FEATURE
After you and your online band mates have finished your work you may
now automatically publish the completed mix and credit the
contributing artists using the new Project Publishing Wizard. A new
button will appear on your project workspace toolbar after the first
mix has been uploaded. The Wizard allows you to select a mix, add a
description, lyrics and other information. It then allows you to
select the contributing artists. When you click the "Finish" button,
the new mix will be published and be available for download from the
MyOnlineBand.com homepage, the Music page, as well as the profile page
of the project owner. Each contributing artists will be awarded with
10MB of extra disk space. An email notification will also be sent to
each participant to let them know that the project has been published.
Links to each of the participants profiles will be added to the song
detail page.
TRAFFIC
Traffic numbers have been doubling each month so far. People are
flocking from other sites and pledging their loyalties to
MyOnlineBand. Most people site "ease of use" as the reason they
switched.
If you have not been to the site in a while, check out some of the new
projects and latest published tracks. There are a growing number of
great musicians writing amazing songs.

New Features Added

IMPROVED PERSONAL MESSAGES
The new "sent mail" view allows you to view messages that you have
sent and check to see if the person you sent them to has read them.
You can view the messages and recall messages that may have been sent
in error.
To help protect users from SPAM we have added many new things behind
the scenes that will detect SPAM messages and prevent them from being
delivered. In addition, users may now report SPAM messages and
optionally block all future messages from the sender.
ARTIST SEARCH BY LOCATION
You may now browse artists by Country. Select this option from the
"Artists menu" and you will see a list of countries where
MyOnlineBand.com users reside and how many artists are in each
country. You can drill down into each country and see the
MyOnlineBand.com Artists who may be Web Jamming next store.
MINI PLAYER IMPROVEMENTS
The Mini Player now detects if a user does not have the Silverlight
plug-in and makes itself bigger in order to provide a better nag to
download the plug-in. We also changed it so the Silverlight install
can be done without leaving the page.
The Mini Player now detects your scroll position on the page and
follows you around so that you can't lose track of it when you need to
pause the playing track.
UPLOAD BIGGER FILES
You may now upload files as large as 30MB. This is double the size
previously allowed. This allows you to upload 24-bit WMA files for
most songs and some WAV files.
WAV file uploads are now allowed. We still recommend the 24-Bit WMA 9
lossless codec over WAV however because it can give you the same
quality but with 3/1 compression ratio vs. WAV.
MORE PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS
More and more professional musicians are rebelling against pricier
collaboration sites in favor of MyOnlineBand.com. Session players that
regularly play with Paul McCartney and other major acts are flocking
to us. The leading reason for switching was ease of use and not to
mention the price (100% free). Analysts are already predicting that
our competitors who change $100 a year to join and then 15%
transaction fees will not be in business a year from now.
