Negatives of "Other Sites":
I visited a few other sites, and found them to be hard to navigate,
mainly because of unnecessary blogs and forums, and more like a my
space page than a collaboration site, also badly laid out, and not as
personal.
Positive of "My Online Band":
The things I like about it is the simple site layout, yet plenty of
communication areas where needed EG: Bio, Comments on each workspace,
direct to members for private messages on their home page. Therefore
it makes it more personal because you're not just sending a message
into space (like a blog). Yet everyone can link to a web site if they
do want to blog.
IDEAS:
( Big Ideas)
I did see and read some cool things as I was browsing. One site has a
Radio (Jukebox) on main page which can be embedded. So maybe something
similiar, that plays, say about 20 -30 Top songs at random. Being
Random would make it more unpredictable and therefore would'nt get
boring.
Another cool thing was that they had made an album of their best
collaborated songs for public sale.I know thats a biggy, but just an
idea.
(Reasonable ideas)
Maybe when hovering over Artist,Projects, & Music, tabs have "All A -
Z".as a choice. Then strangers to the site could browse without having
to make to many choices.
Also some more infomation on how the copyright system works for this
kind of set up. EG: If I started a project, and held the copyright,
and I managed to sell millions (Yeah, I Wish) would I legally be
obligated to pay the performers anything.Morally I would feel guilty
if I did'nt.There is lots of scenarios to consider, so maybe if there
is somewhere like APRA (in Australia)(I'll check) or I think it's AMCO
in the US that has any info on the subject, it might be worth linking
it in the help section.
Have thought of a few other things but getting too late here in Aus.
10.06pm , I start work at 4am. So better go.
