I have posted a mock up of one of the designs for the home page.
Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks

It looks great, I think it't a good start. I imagine future
discussion will revolve around what a "featured artist is" how to
become one, etc. I would make the name of the site bigger with more
emphasis. I like the "your band" ,"fans", "you", graphic. This is
very creative. I have to run now but will have time later to comment
with more detail.

Oh yea, I love the color blue, it snazzes up any page...

The main goal of a home page is to grab someones attention and make
them want to explore future. For musicians it should make them think:
Wow, not only is this a good social networking and collaboration web
site but I can also use this to promote my music.

For non-musicians, the site should be a window into the music creation
and recording process. I think fans should have an opportunity to
observe and participate by providing feedback.

The Featured Artist section will be a rotating content area. MSN,
Yahoo, MTV all have a similar concept. It will show Featured Artist,
News, and anything else we can come up with. I was thinking for the
launch just to pull people from the database at random and pop them
into the Featured Artist box. The only prerequisite would be a fully
filled out profile and at least one track uploaded. This would
hopfully motivate people to fill in there profile.

For the Fans -You thing I was thinking of pulling faces from people's
profiles and overlaying them over the performer's face and have the
face change every few seconds.
