I've taken the upper & lower body classes last year. So far I have used the lower body on 2 with success. Several others did not persist & quit after several sessions.
Wanting to know how much success others have had and the time frame involved with each.

Also, I understand there is a new way to evaluate? Anyone want to fill me in. I would like to take the certification but I need more encouragement.

Thanks to all who answer.    Gail Fitch

I've had great success with upper body tx's, and a few no difference. I very rarely use lower body.
I'd like to know about the new way to evaluate.

who said there was a new way to evaluate? There is the postural analysis and the fast 5 ways, same as always.
As for results, I would LOVE to hear from any and all!

I use this technique very often for both upper and lower extremities with good results. You have to determine the correct level of involvement. I've had fabulous results with neuropathies. I could get rid of numbness in a patient post neck sx that still was numb in all fingers..............

How many sessions for clearing the neuropathies did it take? How many sessions before they became aware of the first changes and how many sessions in total? and for all the fingers did you use C6? or a combo of c's?

I'm currently treating a client w/Neuropothy and nerve pain in both legs.  So far 3 L5 treatments within a week and a half. Greatly improved.

Vertigo and spinning with another was treated with C3,T1-4 combo. After 3 treatments went several days w/o spinning. Completely gone after 5 treatments and is symptom free!

I've treated another with post prostate surgery who has been experiencing incontinence with L3 treatment. Greatly improved. Went from changing pads 3-4 times a day to 1 time a day. From thickest pad to thinnest. Not bad.
Pretty cool stuff!

I live in Estero, FL and am not using the techniques (took lower body) because I fell out of practice. Is there any practitioner living in the Naples/Ft Myers area who would like to get together on a weekend to practice and review?  I would like to get my enthusiasm back up for the lower body techniques and just need a boost refresher.

I've taken the upper, lower and certification course, and they were worth every minute and every penny!

The upper body treatments are my favorites, but I've had pretty great results with the entire system. I'm still having trouble with convincing people to try it, but I feel that's because it sounds to good to be true sometimes. I almost always get immediate results with headaches and migraines. I have an elder lady who has chronic neck pain and I've done two C6 treatments on her, about 3 weeks apart. She says she feels fantastic for days after each one! I did a series of treatments for a lady with plantar fasciitis, and she noticed a difference after the first time! She bought four sessions with me, but during the third one, she said she didn't want the last one. I asked her if she didn't feel the sessions were helping and she replies, "No! They're great, and I don't feel the pain anymore. I want to give the last one to my daughter!". I've had results with sciatica, usually with the client noting a difference within the first to third session, and noting no pain at all after a few more. General back pain is easily helped in one or two sessions, unless it's an injury, like a slipped or herniated disc. Most of my clients feel a difference, like a tingling, warm or floating sensation, during the treatment, which is a good sign. Dr. Mike said that that means the body is registering what we're doing to the body.

I let anyone who may be interested know that I've seen results this quickly, but that it may take up to 7 or 8 sessions to see a huge difference. Doing about 4 sessions a week, that is 2 weeks of these treatments. I charge $30 for housecalls for this system. I let the client know that if they genuinely don't feel the myokinesthetic system has helped them in the slightest after 8 times, and have the same postural balances that they started off with, then I'll refund half the services. In conclusion, I tell them, they only have about $120 and 2 weeks to lose. I have yet to be asked for that refund. This system works wonders!

I haven't heard about a new evaluation. I mostly start off with a postural assessment, then ask where the client's pain is, and if they've been diagnosed with any conditions. I've had to muscle test a couple of times, but usually I can figure out what I feel is best for the client off of posture and pain. I don't use the lower body stuff as much, and I notice that if I don't use it, I lose it. About once every couple of weeks, I take out my lower body DVDs and review the treatments and postural assessment, and occasionally practice on friends just to make sure I still have it in me.

I hope this helped out, Gail! Please don't get discouraged!

Being a massage therapist I really appreciate the Myokinesthetic System as it saves my strength greatly. I have taken the upper body class in person and learned the lower from Dr. Mike’s excellent DVD’s. While it was awesome to take a class in person, don’t underestimate how good the DVD’s are and how helpful they can be to learn the moves and see the treatment protocols in action.

I have had excellent success with the upper body mainly with migraines, shoulder issues, and carpal tunnel. I really feel like I am helping my clients. I have had some success with the lower but seem to use it less frequently. C5 is my go to treatment and it never ceases to amaze me that when someone stands up and takes a short walk after the treatment the response is usually – Wow! I feel better.

The thing that I really want to improve is my conversion of single session clients to multi session clients. This stuff works and like anything else you get better with practice. Don’t leave it sit on the shelf. Use it on everyone and it will get easier.

Thanks again for a great technique Dr Mike.

The "new" assessment info that is taught at the certification class is an add-on to what is taught in the upper and lower classes. The certification class is an "Advanced" class and before you can learn the "advanced" information you need to have the upper and the lower.
I will say that taking the certification class (this is what has been told to me) increases your confidence with all aspects of the upper and lower classes.
If you want to take your results to their highest level in this technique, you are going to want to take that Certification class! Great questions Gail! I LOVED reading about the results of others!

Dr. Mike, In your email of 11/02/11 after certification you said "the new assessment information is so easy and "worth its weight in gold" What did you mean by that?  Gail Fitch
