Distress Email - Medical Charity - Lorry Driver
-----------------------------------------------
I received an email regarding Balakrishnan. He has 7 dependents not including him (Wife, 5 sons & mother in law). Two of his sons are not feeling well, one is partially paralyzed from waist below (14 years old), and another one is bed ridden (13 years old). He is earning RM1500 and the Pedisure Milk alone for one of his son cost RM650.00. While we are working out to assist him, Balakrishnan is now working as lorry driver (has Class D licence) in Subang Jaya for RM1500 pay. Do you happen to know any better paying Lorry driver job for him, where this income will be useful for him to take better care of his sick children. Do email me at svan...@gmail.com if you happen to know any opportunity.

From TheMINDBB's Desk - What is your Opinion
---------------------------------------------
TheMINDBB - I received the below email from Asogan Perumal. He has put lots of thought in his email. I yet to reply to him as being caught up with several urgent work to complete. Meanwhile what are your thoughts on this. Does his idea makes sense?

-----------original-start----------
Mr Sarawanan,

I should first congratulate on ur good updates and postings very meaningful to Indian community.
This job should continue at all cost and wish you all the best.
Just to enhance ur service. I wish if services can be expended to areas in statistics and achievement within stipulated period.
We have a lot of groups have the common interest to serve the community. The rate of achievement is something, I don't know if  any is  keeping a record. As a group like yours, my proposing this Q is valid in place I presume.
We need, solid statistic on all services rendered, to gauge our progress. We are a small community with a population estimated 1.7  M. With a proper plan, a 10 yrs project, we can bring about interested NGOs to Network for a common target.
May be we should start the statistic from the no of Tamil School students going to secondary schools.
The number of them passing out form 5. Upfront registration with the assistance from NGOs shall prepare a role model sampling to measure our progress.
The MindB bulletine was in existence for so many years is know. Again, I don't know if this web site has any contribution in % in community building is available. Sorry, I have to put it this way. Im trying to give an input so as the rest of the community gets an idea to play their role in community and nation building.
We can get the statistic about schools from Education Ministry. The political situation is quite promising to gain any statistic if we try.
Im suggesting on the basis of my own achievement coordination certain projects with community welfare in mind.
I hope someone shuld come forward to play the meaning ful role. There are many out there willing to join force. Let the MIndB be the channel. We shuld take upon us to build the % in the next 10yrs to come. The % that shuld speak  our contribution in nation building.
This is something spontaneous intuition from me to You.
If you can provide a space, some of us can be assigned to drawup the flow chart . We only do the God decides. I said we are only a channel.

-----------original-start-----------
Namaskaaram Mr .Saravanan,

Your contact was forwarded to me by Mr.<snipped>. He advised us to seek help from you to help a needy Indian family Whom I have known for almost 11 years and they are our neighbour.

I have attached family details for yr reference. More details as below :-

Child 1-We have managed to find a sponsor who has sponsored her final year fees, she is Struggling with her daily expenses of about RM 20 a day

Child 2-Going for 2nd Year Mech Eng with full scholarship. He is in need of about RM2,000 per annum for misc fees And about RM20 per day for daily transport and meal expenses.

Child 3-Is pursuing Foundation In Pschychology, which is about RM16,000 and she has obtained 50% scholarship hence needs to pay RM8,000 .1st payment of RM4,000 is done. She is Struggling to payment 2nd payment due in Jan’2014 of RM4,000 Plus and daily expenses Of RM20 for transportation. Details for her college payment is attached.

Child 4-Completed PMR, we have someone sponsoring her tuition and other expenses till Form 5

Currently the neighbours are helping them to cope with their expenses (food and bills). I sincerely hope our society will help the children of this family for a brief Period of time till they complete their studies and  stand on their feet. To my knowledge they are very well cultured, mannered, pure vegetarian <snipped> family and the children are very intelligent and good in their studies we as neighbours are doing as much as we can however we cant cope with the above mentioned expenses hence I am seeking help from our society on behalf of the family.
