Chaining servers option.

How hard would it be to add a option to chain mymedia servers?
The idea is to have a master server that is always on and a slave
servers that sometimes on. This way one does not have to copy data to
the master server all the time and for occasional movie to start a
slave server and allow it to serve the content.

For example I have cartoons and kids shows on my always on server but
maybe some grownup content on my PC that I can turn off when the kid
is watching TV. This way kids can not access content that is not for
them.

Have you ruled out the idea of using a symbolic link to a network share?  It would use a bit more (nearly double) network bandwidth, but might be a relatively easy solution.
