As a satisfied MLO on Windows user I started to use MLO on Android as well. But MLO Android Edit Task does not save ( most ) changes done. It's a showstopper really. Besides that the App crashes all the time ( > 5 times a day with limited view only usage ). Crash reports have been sent automatically. Wheh will this be fixed?

That's very strange. Mine has never lost any edits and hasn't crashed in ages, so I suspect something with your config. Are you running from an SD card? Other config differences? Something unusual is going on.

I have MLO for Windows, downloaded MLO for Android from PlayStore and I synchronize via WiFi. The WiFi syncing works excellent btw. Then I do the following:
Select Profile
Select Outline
Select ( any ) item
Tap Edit ( middle button below )
Tap Down Arrow next to Start Date / Due Date
Tap checkbox on DueDate -> today appears below Due Date
now there is no 'Save Button' or 'Save menu option' anywhere, so all I can do is press Back. I read this is the supposed action to save here in the forum.
A BackPress returns to the Outliner.
I go back to the item.
=> No Due Date. :-(.
Same happens for other fields.
I can however change the Item Description on top.

You are doing it correctly, I double checked and doing exactly what you describe works fine for me. (Though you don't have to select/change profile each time -is it asking, if so that's a clue). Something is screwy...since sync works, I would suggest backing up your desktop, installing MLO on android, reinstall, see if everything works before sync. If it does, sync again, see if it's better, then send detailed notes of problems to sup...@mylifeorganized.net .I don't think they can figure it out with only logs...

I posted the same exact problem OP is descibing about a month ago, it was under the topic "MLO Android App - Can't Edit AND Save A Task".   I am still having these problems, nothing has been fixed yet.  All they need to do is add a "save" option in each and every task edit sections.  Hitting the back button doesn't save the edits and sometimes crashes the app.  This is on Samsung Galaxy S3 btw.

I agree with Lisa. I followed your script and the due date was updated correctly. Just one question: After checking the due date, after using Back to exit the edit page, but before using Back to return to the outliner, my display shows "due date: today" - does yours?

Yes, Dight, it shows "due date: today" just after entry but before using Back.

Lisa, I just select profile once. I removed MLO from Android yesterday and installed it from the store. I did no sync at all. It still did not work. Is it possible that it is related to my hardware? I have a Samsung Note 8.0 tablet. It has the Back 'Button' as a sort of soft hardware button. In any case different than on the Samsung 7" and 10" tablets.

Hello
Maybe the "Don't keep activities" option is set to ON.
Check here:

Home Screen >> Settings >> Developer Options >> OK >> Don't Keep Activities.

Best regards

Andrei,

Yes...!!!

"Don't keep activities" option was set to ON. ( But in my language setting, Dutch of course ) I unchecked and now the updates DO work.

I thank you and the other responders very much for helping me solve this.

Hi nilo de roock,

Can you tell me why you used this debug option on your Android?

Here is what documentations said:
Android 4.0 and greater devices have an option called **Don't keep activities** under the **Developer Options** menu. When this option is enabled, the Android OS will destroy an activity as soon as it is stopped. It is intended to help developers debug their apps. For example, it can simulate the case that Android will kill an activity in the background due to memory pressure. In normal use, it is not recommended to turn this option on because this may lead to unexpected issues on the apps, such as freezes, force closes and reboots. When the **Don't keep activities** option is enabled, the lifecycle of the activity is different from the normal case.

Andrey.
