Creating Tasks and Folders at Highest Level

This is probably something trivial I am missing. I am in the process of entering a bunch of folders with subtasks. When I'm ready to create a new folder, my cursor is inside the last folder I created and wants to insert the new one there. What is the quickest way to create new items at the highest level. I'm fumbling around trying to find a place to click and it's slowing me down. I find myself just creating them wherever and them sliding them in place later, but there has to be a better way.

I think hotkey is what you need. Use Ctrl+Shift+Insert to add a folder.
You can check/edit your hotkey settings at: Tools->Options->Hotkeys.
