Update on the mail sending error

I cannot find my old message regarding this problem any more, please
forgive me. But I figured that both the users and developers would be
interested (hopefully) in my findings.

I set up a different mail account today and this time it did not crash
the entire program without any message, but I received an error
regarding the autentification method which obviously has failed. I
believe google uses SSL/TLS, the account I used (which gave me at least
the error) used STARTTLS. Thankfully I had another option left with the
second account and this mail was directly send to said account.

So, obviously the authentication has to get fixed in order for that
feature to work securely with current email accounts.
Question: Should I send the error.txt to support in order to file a bug
report or is this posting sufficient?

I am always willing to send any staff the error file for further work.

Hi,

MLO works ok with any open mail servers, such as gmx.com.

While I love mlo, I must say that I don't like all that you do. MLO development is slow sometimes and some other times you offload part of what I would expect one app to natively do to other apps which us, the users, are supposed tu fumble around with, keep multiple instances of different siftwares running on multiple machines, etc.

I'm sorry but I can't congratulate you on all the things you do. It's about time MLO Cloud implements mail reminders sent out from the cloud rather than from the different clients which sometimes may sit behind corporate firewalls, ...

Very well said! I must say I am also disappointed I cannot use gmail and
it sounded like this issue is not even on the to-do (one day) list.
I would like to add I'd rather see it fixed for the program than
implemented in the cloud, as I do not have any plans to use the cloud,
but could use email reminders anyway.

Please make sure that this issue goes into the documentation or maybe
even the interface - I tried a lot before I posted here I was not able
to set up gmail. Initially I thought I made a mistake.
