Dear development Madams and Sirs

Good morning!

I'm a user of MLO Pro Version from China.
Your efforts to develop such an amazing application for GTD users is highly apprecaited.

Herein I have a request of improving MLO's experience.
Would you please add a feature of "Insert link to folders"?
Folders always contains more information than files. It's convenient of managing and searching documents for us.

Another suggestion is would you please upgrade "Insert link to a file" to "Insert link to files"?
That's because sometimes we need to add more than one file to a task, we hope to insert several files that locate in a same folder can be done by a hit.

I'm looking forward to your kindly reply and new features be applied in next version.

Thanks!

donnie

Hi,
As a workaround, you can delete the filename from the end of the link, and it will bring you to the folder.

Hi Donnie

I have a similar need in Evernote and use 'file://' before pasting the path to the file or folder. This seems to be a standard way of linking files so it can be used elsewhere.

In MLO you do the same:

1. Copy the path to the folder (highlight the path at the top of the Windows explorer panel). You can get to this in MLO by using the 'link to file' option but don't click the file - just copy the path at the top of the window that appearsl
2. Type "file://" in your notes section of MLO
3. Paste the path immediately after the file:// . e.g. file://d:\Dropbox\Personal\mlo

good luck

Hi Steve

Good morning!~

Thanks for your kindly advice for my question.
I've tried your advice, it seems run well.

However, I met another problem during my usage.
I'm a Chinese user, I use Chinese fonts in MLO,
the Chinese fonts without problem in other fields
unless "Insert link to a file" or "Insert link to a folder".
MLO can't support insert link to a file or folder if there
is any Chinese font in the path.
Please check the situation with below attached picture.

Do you have any suggestion for fixing this problem?

Thanks a lot!

Try enclosing the link in angled brackets
<your link goes here>

Hi, brother

Thanks for your concern and kindly advice.
There is without any space in the Chinese string.
But another brother's suggestion in below floor solves this problem.
Add <> to enclose the whole path string provides link feature that it should be.

Thanks!
Good luck!

I knew a way to enclose with { and } but, trying it before to post, it was not working.
I thought it was { and }, thanks for the < and > correction.
