Is it possible to make checklists in MLO in the notes area using markdown, etc.? By checklists, I mean a list of items (not tasks or subtasks) that can be easily checked off one by one, similar to what you would find in apps like TickTick and ClickUp? If so, can someone describe how to do this in detail? Subtasks are often overkill when you just need a simple checklist. I think TickTick has the best implementation of this that I have seen and it would be great to see it in MLO. In TickTick, you just click an icon in the notes section and it pops up a checklist or converts any existing notes into a checklist based on line breaks. The checklist can be used in place of the notes or in addition and sit below the notes. When you check off an item in the checklist, it drops to the bottom of the notes section like a completed task and is greyed out. Furthermore, you can even add a due date to each individual checklist item if desired. You can also click the checklist icon button and convert the checklist back to regular notes if needed. It's fast, easy, and flexible. ClickUp has checklists that function in a similar way as well, but I don't believe you can assign individual due dates. Thanks.

yes, you can use in the notes area the following code:

☐ Unchecked

☑ Checked

The codes described by Mario are very useful, but they do not have any intelligence. All they do is display the character for ticked-off checkbox or the character for the unchecked (empty) checkbox. There's no popping up, graying out, etc.

If I needed the checklist functionality Sam described, and it had to be implemented in MLO, I would use a list of subtasks. If MLO were to implement the functionality described by Mario, I would be a user.

I do something like that by linking Evernote notes that contain the checklists. Things like "Daily Review" on MLO task list with the details in Evenote.
