command line export parity with in app export

in the command line i can only export to xml, opml. i would like to export to the the other formats that are supported in the desktop in app options like .tab excelxml ect.. trying to view my mlo data on thermal printer and pebble watch and with the limited sucess with parsing the xml/opml to get somthing readable out. 
why is it i can open mlo and then export the file but in the command line but -saveTAB shouldn't
