Bug: New view has tasks sorted differently from the Outline view

I've just noticed the following behaviour.  It looks like a bug to me, but the rest of you might remember a discussion thread where this was decided as a feature:

When I'm in my locked Outline view (which is manually sorted), I often create a new, zoomed view on a project by selecting that project and clicking the shortcut key to zoom in. I've just noticed that the new view defaults with some of the tasks in a different order.  It may be that it's tasks which were originally created in a different view. If I move the tasks in the new zoomed view, they do not get moved to the same place in the Outline view.

If this is a feature then it's one I find quite confusing. I'd expect my new view to have the tasks sorted into the same order as the Outline view and any manual re-ordering of tasks to be seen in both views.

If you agree it's a bug, I'll post it to JIRA.  If not, can someone point me to the explanation, please?

False Alarm!

I've now fixed it.  I've just discovered that you can uncheck manual sort but still sort by [none].  My outline view now matches the outline view on my iPhone and the zoomed views.
