Hi Guys

I was planning to get a new WP7 handset when release during 'holiday'
season (assume Sep / Oct) of this year. I've just realized that non-
availability of MLO could cause me a big problem due to no
availability on this new platform and I gather that WM 6.5 version is
now non-compatible.

I guess that mobile app originated on pocket pc platform and that
'next gen' abilities of iphone etc could allow for a much nicer UI for
IE MLO4 (hopefully with side and top tabs) but presumably this will
take loads of development given large number of mobile platforms now
being supported, or rather planned to be supported as iphone verison
is not yet available. I wonder whether devs are planning to have nice
UI version for iphone or even desktop 4 and then port that over to the
other platforms?

Anyway my questions was on WP7 support - is this expected / on the way
or depending on user take-up? I suspect that like me a lot of WM6
users now have ancient handsets and expiring contracts and are itching
for an upgrade.

hey there's a line here :-)

Get behind the iphone / ipad / android / nokia(symbian)  :-)

Just kidding, but you get the idea.

as if choosing between Android or iOS is not enough ...

Yes there is also blackberry, palm (HP), winmobile, nokia they are
just not on my radar.

A mobile web version should be compatible with all. (lite)

This is a great platform. I've been following Paul Thurott's coverage
and this is going to be big I think. Beautiful hardware it is being
released on too.

Hi

I've now got WP7 (Omina 7) and pretty impressed so far - core
functionality is solid and lots of potential. Certain functionality
removed over WM6.1 should be put back over time. Widely publicised
are cut & paste and multitasking but outlook task sync has also gone
(notes sync was bizarrely never supported for reasons unknown) which
is a pain for me, esp as I've now got no MLO client on the phone.
Overall I'm fine to have moved to gain Zune pass, better hardware,
better UI even though losing MLO mobile sync.

That said I'm a keen MLO user and am excited about Andrey's roadmap
for developing this platform. I'm much looking forward to
confirmation of MLO release for this OS asap and will certainly get
straight away. I note the Iphone and Android versions are in the
making so presumably the team are busy with those. Presumably work
done on the Iphone version will track directly to WP7 (IE no fiddly
menus / stylus like WM6.x) although I guess the coding would have to
be from scratch.

Bump - I'm still keen on this and the OS seems to be selling OK so
there should be a growing user base.

Updates from devs please!
