I read in the manual that the date of the Completion Filter when “Recently Completed” is being used can be set in the settings for the option. I don’t see that as a preference in settings, so I’m guessing it’s set to a fixed date. If so, what is it set to?

hi
do you mean this help sentence?
"Show Completed: Recent - include only recently completed tasks to the filtered list. You can
configure the date of the completion to include the task in additional settings for this option."

Here is an example from MLO windows whre you can see this setting. It seems that mobile versions don't offer such granulation.

Hi again
As to the fixed date.

I tested with my android MLO. I gues the iPhone/iPad versions behave the same.
1) if you create from scratch a view which shows completed tasks on android/iOS, the view will show all completed tasks.
2) instead, if you create the same view on windows MLO, you can fine tune the completed date depth.
Then to have it on mobile, you need only to export the view from windows mlo and import it to your mobile mlo.
(To export from windows do right click on view name and choose export views. save it on your dropbox/onedrive/google drive and open it on your phone.
or you can send the view to yourself by email.)
If you do this, you should see the same completed depth on the mobile MLO platform too.

Mark, sorry for so many replies. MLO is very powerful and complex software. And many times the desired result can be achieved in different ways.
So, there is also another way to restrict the display of completed tasks.
Go to the view editor, then tap on the advanced filter.
There you can choose and customize the CompletedDateTime filter.
You can set it to show any date interval.
To show the completed tasks during last 7 days, just write in the value box the following sentence:
Today-7.
Happy MLOwing.

Andrew,

Thank you very much for your response! Between that and some other things I’m finding, it seems like I may have to break down and get the Windows version, so I have more options, even though I really don’t have the opportunity to use a laptop much in my day to day planning and execution.

Thanks again,

Mark

Hello Mark,

Views in MLO can be modified on all the supported platforms. On iOS the "Completed Recently" view is set to 31 days by default. You can check and change it following the steps: swipe right->Edit-> tap "Completed Recently"-> "Advanced filter"-> tap twice to change the value. You can get back to the default views anytime, just tap "Restore" in the view menu.

If any assistance is needed, let us know.

Alyona,

Thank you for your reply. My question was about the completed recently filter in all views (the one that looks like an eyeball). I understand how to edit the views, and I love that feature - I’ve created several custom ones already!

Thanks again,

Mark

I thought so, just wanted to make sure you know how to edit views. As for the eyeball button, on iOS the "completed recently" position cannot be changed. I've checked that it is set to show tasks completed today.
Due to screen size limitations mobile clients do not have all the features that are available on MLO-Desktop. The program on each platform is standalone, but the most convenient and functional way is to use different MLO clients together. I realize that this solution is not perfect for you, but other users may find this helpful: like Andrei said it is possible to modify a view on desktop (and change the value for "show completed recently") and then transfer it to MLO-mobile. Here is the instruction on how to transfer a view.
