As we always do with other applications, we can put out task list file
in dropbox and so it will be very convenient to open it by other
computers and devices (most probably useful feature for the mobile
version). Now, the android version have no option to target any
document and the only way seems to be available is that the MLO
android will be like a passive component to be synchronized from other
platform through cloud or wifi. This is really something strange for
me. Maybe you guys think too much about the money other than making
software easier to be implemented between different platforms.

The Android and Desktop versions of MLO use different data file structures.  So the only value of what you are talking about is to share the file between different Android devices.  Not sure there is a big market for that.

Sigh. This is the same song and dance all over the web, as if DropBox is the be-all-end-all of syncing. It isn't. DropBox has it's place, but it fails miserably when it comes to complex sync requirements that task managers such as MLO have. I doubt very seriously this is about making money off of a cloud sync solution as much as it is about a reliable sync solution (that DropBox can't provide).

I would not be very happy with a dropbox type of solution which would
move entire documents from one platform to another. For my task list,
I need the ability to add, delete and move items on both sides of the
sync. I need a sync process that will go through record by record and
construct a single results database containing the most current
updates from both (all) reporting sites.

Neal, Ian, Dwight:
Thank you. You explained everything very clearly.

Yes DropBox sync will not work if you want to add/change tasks in
different branches in the same file in different places and then sync
everything. MLO-Cloud works just fine for this task. We cannot
implement reliable sync solution in MLO using DropBox.

Thanks,
Andrey.
