I am trying to find a filtered item in an outline but want to see all other tasks in view (as per desktop app).  Basically I'm shifting the focus of the outline from one area to a different area so I can look at items in that different area.

If I use the filter function (in Android MLO), the searched/filtered item is shown but when I unselect the filter with the "x" to view/work with other items in the same area as the filtered item, the focus shifts back to the top of the outline.  Very frustrating.

Hopefully I am missing something obvious.  Please let me know if you know.

Thanks,  Jim

Hi, Jim. The most important step is this: before you dismiss the filter, click on the task (filtered item) that you will want to work with later. Make sure that the selected task's background turns bright green, showing that this is now the official "currently selected task". Now you can dismiss the filter, and the focus goes to the top of the profile, scrolling your selected task off of the display.

At this point in the process, your situation could be described as "a task is selected but is not visible because it has scrolled offscreen." You are in luck, there is a tool invented for just this specific problem. In the toolbar at the bottom of your phone's screen you should see an arrow, probably green and probably pointing straight down. This arrow is trying to point to the currently selected task. As long as the arrow stays green it means tyat there is still a selected task, and if it is pointing down it means that you have to scroll down to find the selected task. Tap the arrow and the screen should scroll to exactly where you want it to go, which is to bring the selected task onscreen.

Please write back and say if this fixed your problem.
