I am currently evaluating MLO. For two weeks, I used the latest stable
version and then switched to the latest beta. On both versions, Outlook
sync produces the same problem: After almost every sync, most tasks
have a task note attached that consists of a single empty line (i.e.,
one "line break" character). Existing notes get a line break attached
(but I have not yet observed more than two line breaks at the end of a
note). Synchronisation is set to "Outlook <-> MLO". I am using the GTD
plugin for Outlook. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jan

I can not reproduce the problem on my setup. It looks like GTD plugin
adds empty line in task notes on Outlook. Please check if empty line
exists in Outlook before sync.
Andrey.
I have checked, and at least on the surface there are no empty lines in
affected tasks in Outlook. The Outlook task note is empty, while the
task note in MLO contains one single empty line.
After deleting the "empty line" task note in MLO, the empty line
returns after two syncs. Here are excerpts from the log:
First sync after deletin gempty line in MLO:
17.01.2007 14:20:18 [*o] Outlook task UPDATED: "Do laundry"
17.01.2007 14:20:18 Update details: MLO.Notes->Outlook.Body
Subsequent sync:
17.01.2007 17:33:21 [*m] MLO task UPDATED: "Do laundry"
17.01.2007 17:33:21 Update details: OL.Body->MLO.Notes
Outlook note remains empty, but MLO note has returned.
I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange Server on Windows XP SP 2.
Cheers,
Jan
Sorry but I can not reproduce it on my environment at the moment.
Hmm, the empty notes appear only in MLO; neither in Outlook nor on my
Palm that hotsyncs with Outlook. If another plugin causes the change in
Outlook, it does at least not visibly change the task note. Could it be
the case that the GTD plugin performs some other invisible change that
then confuses the MLO sync interface? In the above example, several
hours have passed in between the two syncs. However, the same thing
happens if I sync twice in a row without delay. If this bug only
happens to me, it is probably not worth investigating. But if you would
like me to assist you in any way, I'd be happy to do so. I'm a software
engineer myself, so we can do some tech talk if necessary :-)
Cheers
Jan
MLO sync takes data directrly from Outlook task. So speaking about tech
talk :) it would be good if you could check (using VBA script for
example) if the Outlook task really contains the empty line (before and
after sync with MLO).
Andrey.
