Per MLO staff on Facebook as of June 14th, they're working on the Android version now and making that top priority.

Or at least I thought so. It's now March 1st, 2015 and it still hasn't been released.

Hey MLO staff just letting you know that the android version I have still works.  In fact I used it almost every day last week.  I was able to do everything I needed on it and still working fine.  I understand you will update at some point but in the meantime just checking in to say great product I have now.  Look forward to the continued development.

What are you some sort of shill?  The title of the thread is a question about WHEN will v2 release.  Not a question about whether the current version works for you.  What have you to gain by interjecting here?  Congratulation that the current crippled MLO-A works for you.  Maybe you wanna come here and solve all my problems too?  Since you insist on minimizing (here and in the previous threads) the need for Andrey to release an update..

Frankly I don't care if they release 2.0.  Many of the "update" features just mediocre.  Nothing too mind blowing really - just a clone of the mediocrity called the iPad client.  But the developer has used this 2.0 red herring to halt all development on the current client.  Where is 1.7?  Where is even 1.6.5?  Something to fix the broken sync behaviors?  The non-automatic sync that was promised to work better with the introduction of a PAY service?  A fix to the duplication of half of my (60+) contexts every few weeks/months?  ANYTHING that shows ANY development effort?
I'll save you the trouble of looking - There isn't any.

This product was announced as sign-up for beta over 2 1/2 years ago and anounced as beta close to release almost a year and a half ago (oct. or nov of 2012).  All we have is, as of three months ago, in the middle of fervent requests from the user, some iPad look-alike screen shots then nothing.

Go start your own thread about how happy you are.  I don't see you posting here except to piss on the requests of others about android v2.0

You're a shill and now it's clear.

Hey Joel. Like you, I’m anxious to see MLO/Android.V2 and I would like to more frequent and informative communications from the developers. Nevertheless, the very harsh tone you took with Daniel makes me uncomfortable; I wanted you to know that.

-Dwight

Ps I am not a shill.

I never presumed nor called you a shill Dwight.  If you find my words offensive you are entitled to be offended.  I've no say in that.  I simply shoot straight and call the shots as I see em.  I think my post history speaks plenty to that.

Joel.

no not a shill.  sorry you somehow feel entitled to your opinion but I am not entitled to mine.  The thread is an open thread and my post is on topic as I am a current owner of the current android version which I purchased.  Sorry you have problems.  You do not have to "save" me the trouble of looking as I do not care about updates.  Just like I did not care about an update for my commadore 64, or an update for my dos, or windows 3.1 or any other thing that has ever been updated.  Why, because I have absolutely zero control over "updates"  I only have the product I have.  Can you understand that?  I have what I have and I have to make work what I have.  I wish I had the luxury to sit around all day to whine and complain about wanting something else but I do not.  I have to go do work with what I have.  I made a choice to purchase this product.  I did not make a choice to purchase this product 4 updates from now I bought what was available when it was available and I then make a choice to use it or not.  NOTHING can be everything to everyone in existence, sure there are probably things that I would like to do another way and when that day comes I'll switch what and how I do it.  Until then I will continue to GET THINGS DONE using the tools I have at the time.

Why is is so difficult for you to consider the alternative which in a long about way is probably what I'm trying to say.  Since EVERYONE that has this current release is not complaining maybe you should instead be wondering why about that.  Maybe, just maybe you should be thinking hmmmm I wonder how other people are getting their work done and are not so worried about the new release.  Maybe I need to change how I approach some things.  I'm just saying.

so no I'm  not a shill.  I know nothing about the company, I know nothing about the developer or developers and I do not care to.  They offered a product, I purchased the product and then I figured out how to use the product in the way that works best for me.  I'm sorry you cannot do that.  i'm sorry you do not like other opinions that are divergent from yours.  Maybe you can have a little understanding that those of us that SOMEHOW as unbelievable as it sounds can actually use the product we bought are a little tired of others always venting about not having the "next" version

I read with interest your opinions  You call this product "crippled" yet I use it every day.  You call the update features mediocre.  " Nothing too mind blowing really - just a clone of the mediocrity called the iPad client"
you say I " insist on minimizing" the need for updates.  Your are incorrect I "insist" on my need to call out you and others for complaining about the lack of them.

Here is a novel thought.  You obviously have a very high opinion of your technical knowledge and skills since you believe you are qualified to offer terms like mediocre.  Since you are so obviously highly qualified how about starting your own firm. Then you can build EXACTLY what you are missing and it can conform exactly to your specifications and it will be so overwhelmingly incredible that you will gather up 100% of the market share immediately and will save us all from ever having to deal with mediocrity again.

I think my dad would have termed that "put up or shut up"

Is there a moderator for this forum?
I find the previous posts from Joel offensive and do not contribute anything positive.
It's not free speech, it's just plain vulgar. I'd question allowing this sort of post to bring down the whole tone of this essentially collaborative forum. It forced Daniel into an extended defence which is unnecessary.

Hi, Jimbo. There are moderators on this forum. I’m not one, though I’ve moderated elsewhere. I’ve seen these moderators deal with flame wars in the past and I know that they would really prefer to keep the discussions free and open, and will not get into censoring or blocking a member’s posts unless it becomes seriously necessary. When I moderate, it’s okay to vigorously criticize ideas that you disagree with as long as you don’t start to attack the people who disagree with you. When a thread takes on a feel of argumentum ad hominem I think it’s best to point out that it’s getting uncomfortable, and usually everybody will settle down, maybe after taking one last shot. It’s important to give everyone an opportunity to cool off, which means that sometimes you have to let a comment pass with no retort even if you disagree or it annoys you. I’m kind of breaking my own rule by posting this comment, so I am going to shut up now and do my best not to post here again. At least not until there is news about the MLO/Android.v2 release.

In addition to what Dwight has said, I would point out that each post can be voted up and down (green/red arrows) which gives clear feedback to a poster about how their contribution is viewed by the wider community. Perhaps, we should start using this tool more frequently, rather than relying solely on moderation? It could then help a moderator take subsequent decisions about any further action if necessary.

FWIW I participate in a number of forums and Joel's comments would be unacceptable in all of them. "Straight" talking does not require personal abuse.
