Is there any way for "Completed Tasks Hidden" to be the default?

Guys,

I'm often finding myself wanting to add a new task to a project, as I'm working through a "to-do" view.

The only way I know to get to the project is to click the "breadcrumbs" at the top.

When I do this it opens a new tab, in the all tasks view, with completed tasks shown.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make completed tasks hidden by default?

Or a more elegant way to open the parent project of a task so I can add to it?

Thanks in advance.

I double click the task and it takes you to the first tab of the outline view to that task where the project is outlined.  The tab has to be set to sync or zoom with the first tab.  I think you just click on the tab heading to make sure that is checked on your second tab.

I’ve never used the breadcrumb – I will have to try that now and see the differences.  Thanks

Not any help here but I agree. I wish there was a better way to jump to the task. Was just thinking the same a couple days ago.

The method explained by Susannah is pretty elegant, I think. If you double-click on a task in the todo list view, you get to see it in the first tab, the outline view. If you double-click it in the outline view, it shows it back in the flat, list view. That way, then, you can flick back and forth between seeing a task and seeing the outline and parent task associated with it.
