Hi -

I am trying to make a couple of different views:
1) I am attempting to create a view within the desktop version to only show a particular context, and I'm trying to name the tabs by these contexts.  If I have @home, @work, @personal, and @projects, I'd like 4 different tabs with just those tasks.  Remember The Milk does this very well and its super easy.  MLO has so much more, I can't see why this can't be done.

2) I am attempting to make a view on my android app that shows the 7 day schedule.  Within each day, I'd like the tasks separated by project.

   Like:
          Monday
                    Home Chores
                              Take out Trash
                              Gather Recycling
                               Timmy needs help with homework
                    Work Tasks
                               Email John about proposal
                               Meeting @ 4pm

          Tuesday
                  Home Chores
                             Take Recycling out
                             Do dishes
                             Cook dinner
                  Work Tasks
                             Email Mark about proposal
                             Meeting @ 2pm

          Wednesday.....

And so on.  Remember the Milk does a version of this and I like it a lot, however, does not allow me to do as much with projects. I can work around it,but MLO comes with the project format I like.

I have no idea if this is possible.  Please let me know.

Hi, Jason.

1: custom desktop view by context – easily done.

Note that I am giving this in small steps as I don’t know what the current state of your display is. You will find once you have done this once that you can skip some of the steps.

a. click on the + tab to create a new tab.

b. in the setup popup, name it @home

c. load the “Active Actions by Context” view

d. Ensure that the View Properties pane is showing on the left of your MLO window. If you have lo left pane hit alt-f1 to display it. If you see a list of views, click on the word “Views” in the pane’s title bar to bring up the view properties

e. In the view properties, find the section called “Contexts”. If the section is collapsed, click on the word “Contexts” to expand it.

f. Find the @home context and click on it to highlight it. Do not highlight anything else. Your tab is now showing what you want, the next few steps are needed to make it permanent.

g. Click the Save View button at the bottom of the view properties pane. In the view name popup, enter @home to be the new view name

h. right-click on the @home tab and select “set as default for this tab

i. right-click the @home tab again and select “lock default in this tab”

repeat as needed for other contexts

2. custom views on Android-not so easy

Sorry, custom views are not yet available on Android. There is a version of custom views for Android in Beta testing but there is no guarantee that the released version, whenever it comes out won’t have massive changes from the current beta. If you really want custom views for Android and you are willing to take a risk that your custom views will eventually need to be rewritten to run under the released version, I would suggest that you write to MLO Support and ask to become a member of the beta test team. Please describe your experience and qualifications that would make you a productive beta tester.
