I recently rediscovered MLO, and I couldn't be more pleased with the functionality this software provides. Over the years, I've tested more task, note and information managers than I could ever count, and so far MLO has more of the features I'm looking for than any other app I've tested.

However, I am curious to find out if any of the following features (options) are available.  After testing the software for the better part of the day today, I never could find options for:
> Customizing Importance
> Customizing Urgency
> Sorting by column settings
> Embedding (not simply linking) files
> Dropping links (URLs) into the task list  (I know this works in the notes editor)

Also, I would like to ask Audrey to comment specifically on the status of the ever present user request for Rich Text Editing

I've used as many votes as I could to up-vote Rich Text Editing here in the UserVoice Forum:

...and I've counted at least 10 threads in this group with multiple people requesting the Rich Text Editing option.

However, in all of the threads I've reviewed, I never saw a reply from Audrey in response to this request. :-(

With appreciation and keen interest,
Metta

P.S.
Unfortunately, the work-around that Dwight recommended for cutting-and-pasting formatted text into the editor did NOT work for me, so I'm wondering: has anyone else found a creative way to incorporate text formatting into their MLO notes?

Hi, Metta. Could you please expand a little on what you have in mind for customizing importance and urgency?
Thanks,
-Dwight

Hi Metta,

maybe you mean with customizing making your own priority values like from 1 to 10 instead of those clunky espressions like "less, more" etc. I actually would love that option. TDL a MLO clone has it. It´s also coloured there so you instantly see the importance at first glance. Maybe a feature in the future.

I absolutely have to second your post. The missing Rich Text Option alone made me almost drive away from MLO. Now i invested in all the cloud stuff and i live with it. But not very good. ;-(  I often like to use bullets and indents. It´s an ongoing pain. This webformular offer more text formatting options than a standalone software like MLO!! It´s unbelievable!!

Maybe Andrey blocks this option (even the inpasting of formatted text) because he worries how formatted text get´s synced to the mobile devices.

DEAR ANDREY TKACHUK IF YOU READ THIS: I think most users would be absolutely happy if at least formatting options are supported in the windows version and are stored in the .mlo - file. Concerning the mobile devices i´m absolutely fine if plain text is displayed. Does anybody agree?

Rich text formatting is absolute must-have for  a software of this class! I'm wondering how come this issue hasn't be properly addressed yet. Changing field's property to html text would solve this issue completely but - unfortunately - as everything in MLO environment it takes way too much time.

Alexis, you're right: I was hoping we had the option of editing the Importance and Urgency values in the same way that Contexts can be customized. However, from everything I can tell, it looks like this apparently not possible in MLO.

(Also, Alexis, what is the "TDL" clone to which you are referring?  With a quick search online, I was not successful in finding this MLO clone.)

As for my other questions above:
> Elizabeth has since explained how to do a first and secondary sort on Importance and Urgency: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mylifeorganized/ZTqX9sG7W70/mueL_iNYOAYJ

> It looks like we also do not have options to:
-- imbed files within our task database or
-- drop URLs into the task list.

> After posting my original question about the absence of Rich Text Formatting, I've since created my own work-around which I've shared here in the hope that it might be helpful to others: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mylifeorganized/EmNulORGuS0/Gaq9C6KMq2YJ

Robert, I'm also curious: what functions do you feel takes "way too much time" in MLO?

Of all the (many) task management software applications I've tested over the years, MLO has proven to be one the most user friendly and efficient I've ever used.
> The Rapid Task Entry option has been a godsend for me since I've never had the option of creating multiple tasks (including subtasks) from the system tray.
> By creating and pinning multiple, filtered views of my database, I can very quickly access and view whatever I need.
> My favorite featured is the starred list that I can manually reorder.  This feature all by itself has been a godsend for me, so I can't help but wonder, what are you looking for that MLO does not provide?

Or, what are the efficiency issues you've had with MLO?

It was my general opinion about software development pace at MLO. It refers to both bringing new features as well as fixing the old ones. Please don't ask me for details, there's a lot of topics here for you to find out.

+1
I sync with Outlook tasks and the notes there are much nicer than in MLO. It would really help keep things organized in my life. Most other task organizers seem to support it.
