Excellent application. There is an ingredient that is missing, though,
in my opinion: seamless portability. MLO partially achieves this by
allowing USB memory stick installation, synchronization with outlook
(which can be synced to other devices/applications) and some beta
syncing with Pocket PC. But this still limits the usability of the
tool for many users. Many users face numerous restrictions that make
seamless portability difficult:
- desktop computer is not mobile
- synchronziation required between multiple computers (home networks,
laptop/desktop, home/work)
- synchronization required to mobile devices
- synchronization between different software and opperating systems
(windows, MAC, Linux, PPC, palm, phone, etc. etc.)
- synchronization to devices with different priveleges (i.e. work
machine does not allow USB devices, does not allow installation of
software, does not allow synchronization with Outlook - all for
security reasons).

>From a developers standpoint, i can imagine that it is a nightmare of
exponentially increasing application complexity and effort to create,
maintain and support portability across every permutation. I think
that there is a huge opportunity for exploring solutions that are
easily implemented across multiple platforms and easily accessible from
anywhere.

In searching for an application that meets my "task management" and
"portability" requirements, I've stumbled across excellent tools that
manage to do one or the other very well, but not both. As far as I can
tell, MLO appears to be the premier appliation for task management. In
the portability department, I've found some excellent web-based
solutions:
- etc.
The major advantages to these tools being that they are easily
accessible from any web-enabled device and are completely free. What
they lack, though, is the broad feature set of MLO and applications
like it: outlining capability, sorted task lists, contexts, etc.
(...yet...?)

I'd love to see a tool that does both, and I'd highly recommend for MLO
to explore this.

PS - Being an over-anxious end-user always desiring instant
gratification: might I naively suggest merging or collaborating with
one of the above-mentioned online services? I'd love to see a solution
developed in the short term rather than wait for one party to "win the
race" of incorporating these features.

Hi, here's a tip how to synchronize MLO between two different machines:
Download one of these:

(1) SyncBack
http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html (scroll down until SyncBack
Freeware V3.2.9)
(2) ViceVersa FREE 1.0.3
http://www.tgrmn.com/free/

and synchronize the /MLO file.
