Personally although I am a strong fan of making MLO much more accessible and mainstream friendly, I see little or no need for that to involve either dumbing down or removal of features. And I worry that such arguments might be used to thwart genuine progress.
Think of it like a motor car. If well designed we can all jump into a new make/model and with only a couple of minutes induction we can pretty much drive off... AND will know the basics of how to brake, steer, corner etc
And yet a well designed sophisticated /expensive car will have a number of carefully chosen /powerful /unusual features that one only discovers over time, but which don't really get in the way of the basics. And even where the do, everything is pretty obvious.
