Don't know if this is the right place for this, but I just installed
3.6.1. Before this install, if I would type a letter into the context
box of a task, a dropdown menu would show me the possible contexts
that started with that letter. Now that feature seems to have
disappeared. Anyone know why this might be?

In 3.6.1 the incremental search was not ported due to technical
reasons.
But this type of search is expected to be back again as soon as
possible.

Alexandra this is really irritating. Please put this sort of change into the change log if features are removed.

I agree. A change log is just that, a log of changes not just enhancements and bug fixes. While we are on this subject; I have another annoyance. The change log always says "minor fixes and improvements". Either this is just listed by default, which is pointless, or there is some detail behind it, in which case it would be nice to know what the detail is.

I have wasted several hours searching through options and preferences
thinking that there must be some box that I accidentally unchecked!
Please note things like this in the release notes, especially for
features that are commonly used.

It really is a major change. I rolled back to 3.5.9 to get it back. For those of us who use contexts as a sort of tagging, its invaluable.

I have a good news about auto-fill for contexts in 3.6.1. While working on MLO4 I have just found a good way to return this feature back.

I plan to put together some hotfixes and release version 3.6.2 with this fix.

The feature was removed due to technical issues while transferring to unicode. So it will be back in 3.x version line.

Andrey.

Good to hear but better still is the news that you're working on MLO4 ;-)

Yes I do! :) This is why I am spending less time on forums, sorry.

Andrey.

Oh thank god I found this forums post.
While trying a new method I noticed that autofill for contexts does
not work any more.
I would like to switch back to 3.5.9, but there is only the installer
online. Any chance
to get the .zip file for 3.5.9?
Thanks,
Jan

I don't have the answer for you, but I am really disappointed that the
MLO crew has not yet repaired this... its a pretty scary sign of the
quality management for MLO in general... I would be more forgivingthe
problem had been repaired soon after it was first pointed out 6 months
ago, but to remove a significant feature during an 'upgrade' and not
do anything about it even though many people have asked for it back is
un-excusable for a paid product. This kind of stuff makes me think
twice of using MLO as a key tool in managing my personal and work
life.

Grant - I agree that this an annoying problem but I really don't see how its a quality problem. Quality problems come when they're surprised by something. They weren't they, instead they made trade off. When they supported internationalization they had to drop the incremental search. Now they have rewrite it from scratch. They haven't made that a priority.

They've failed on a few points:
- prioritize adding this feature back in
- tell us that this had been removed
- tell us where in the roadmap this feature sits.

However long time MLO users won't be shocked, communication is the area where Andrey is weakest. I look at the upside in the time I've used the product (5+ years), I've never lost data.

Cheers
Mark

Dear Andrey,

Please fix autofill for contexts ASAP. It is really annoying.

Kind regards,
Oleg
