Hi, a few questions
1. How do I hide completed tasks
2. How do I create my own views in MLO so they work in Pocket Mod?

I tried the standard Starred view, and it only shows current or future tasks, not overdue.  I created my own starred view, and that starts listing the entire MLO outline....

Thanks very much!

Hello Grant,

Well, the quickest way to hide completed tasks is to click on the icon which looks like an eye with a tick in it:

To create your own views, make sure you can see the Views / Filters pane on the left (in MLO desktop version) - Alt+F1 to open that pane if it's not current visible.
Then click on the "^Filter" button at the bottom to expand the filters into view and you can set whatever filter criteria you want - It's especially worth learning how the Advanced Filters work.

You can save a filter to change a View or to create a completely new View, using the button at the bottom of the pane.

In iOS and Android you can also create your own filters. In the iOS version, you have to swipe from left to access settings and find the button for editing and creating filters.

I hope some of that helps,
Stéphane

Hmm, I pasted some screenshots into that description, but it looks like Google Groups stripped those screenshots straight back out again.

For those who subscribe via mail, they are visible. But it seems the
Google groups viewer removes them.

Hey Steph,
I think you missed understood the tool I was talking about.  I was asking this for the PocketMod printing function - a tool that prints a small book on a single sheet of paper.  I guess I am old fashioned enought that I prefer to have a piece of paper (and pen) in my pocket during the day with my ToDo list (I do not work behind a computer, and I am always leaving my mobile phone somewhere where I am not)

Anyways, when I print these, even if I have one tab/view open, and I have hidden the completed tasks, PocketMod still prints all my completed tasks.   I do not think that is useful

I also want to have a page with starred tasks only.  Since that is not a standard view, I want to know how to create my own lists views to print via PocketMod

Thanks for anyone who can help

hi

sorry for late reply and for my english
As far as i remember, the pocket mode should display the views exactly as they are configured in MLO.
If you don't see the completed tasks in MLO, but they still appear in the Pocket mode, that means that the Views has not been saved.

See attached video for more information.

Best wishes
Andrew

Andrei!
Thanks so much for the video - how great you made this effort to provide a really clear answer to my question!
And yes, it works (of course)!

My mistake was I was using the standard views, which by default must have 'show completed' on.  I was using the filter to turn that off, but not trying to save them.  It seems they can not be saved, so I must create my own views with 'show completed'  and other changes, and save that, and use it.

PS: do not worry about your English - it was good!  I am a native English speaker and make more mistakes than you do probably.  I also live in the Netherlands, and, well, my Dutch has a lot more mistakes I am sure...
