+1

I'm particularly disturbed by the fact, that I cannot asssign a context by hotkey anymore, once I'm in the mode of editing the caption of a task.

BEFORE it was ... clicking on INS for adding a new task, writing the caption, and then hotkey for a context, and "done".

NOW it's clicking INS, writing the caption, then click ENTER, and only then a context can be assigned by a hotkey. Doesn't seem to be a big issue, but it's not as intuitive anmore and it's certainly slowing down working with MLO.

HI Everyone,  Hello Developers,

I've used "Manage contexts..." in MLO to assign hotkeys to all of the contexts I use on regular basis.

In MLO 3, these hotkeys used to work universally - no matter where was the focus and what field was being edited, the context would get toggled for the 'current task'.

It appears that in MLO 4 this functionality got seriously crippled, and it only works when focus is on a task in task list and the text of the line is not being limited.  Is is a big hindrance.  I believe the areas where these context hotkeys must work are:
  1. task properties pane (no matter where in this pane)
  2. task list, whether the task is simply selected or its text is being edited
  3. the new window resulting from "View>Open New Window"

Does anyone know if I am missing some new configuration setting to make the context hotkeys work as expected?

If NOT:
Developers, is there a plan to fix this?

Kindly Thanks,
Marcin

Good point. This problem has already been reported multiple times, but unfortunately, it's anybody's guess what the status of this issue is... I agree that it'd be great if shortcuts would work anywhere; it'd make assigning contexts much more of a no-brainer than it is now.

Best,

Maybe I have misunderstood the point here, but when I am adding a new task, I hit Alt +L and the contexts pop up for selection....

i.e.
1. Insert for new task
2. Type in the text (do not hit return)
3. ALT + L add contexts ALT +D dates etc etc

Or do you mean it used to jump to the properties pane for context selection???

I have not been using MLO for so long, so would not know of previous behaviour.....

Very simple ... Assign a hotkey for a context and do the following:

1. Insert for new task
2. Type in the text (do not hit return)

then

3. Use for example a defined hotkey for a certain context ... unfortunately, nothing happens (and that's exactly the problem we're discussing here)

I can't use any shortcuts on mine. For example: Alt+Enter to automatically recognize information in the caption doesn't work. Nor does Ctrl-Z to undo. It makes the separate windows rather useless.
