Do you have a cloud sync profile? If so, what is it's setting for automatic syncing?

Automatic cloud sync should be controlled by the cloud sync profile. MLO shouldn't (in my opinion -- not sure in actuality) be connecting to the cloud unless you have a sync profile that has automatic sync checked.

I'm testing MLO v4 RC, and one thing that is annoying is that the program regularly asks (like every 30 to 60 minutes) to connect to this IP address: 66.96.143.160, which is owned by The Endurance International Group, Inc. (I assume this is your cloud hosting service). However, I'm only using SMTP email reminders, but not using cloud syncing. Also, I really don't like applications that constantly ask to go out and check for updates or whatever, so I block them with my firewall. Basically, if I don't know why it's trying to connect to a remote server that I have no relationship with and I have no idea what it's sending or trying to do, I block it. However, I still want to be able to send emails from the program, so can we please have a checkbox or two in the preferences:

1) Enable Automatic Updates?
2) Enable Cloud Sync?

Thanks.

No, I do not have a cloud sync profile. It acts this way just "out of the box"...

It may just be the program is checking for updates, but in that case a simple checkbox in the prefs for "Automatically check for new updates" is needed. I cannot think of a piece of software that *doesn't* have a setting like this somewhere.

Yes, that sounds like a bug.
